Also playing Sheff U and Burnley at the start when they still have momentum from promotion and are unknown commodities. Confidence will still be high and they won't be bedding in new signings.
I would say those first 6 games couldn't be much worse.

That is a brilliant start.
Two promoted teams at home and 4 of the big teams away in the first few weeks, get them out the way while they are still building up steam.
Building up steam? You mean when they have a fully fit squad and no distractions or reason for rotation.
We will likely have between 0 and 6 points after 6 games now and Cooper will immediately be under pressure.
Nah, they'll have 8 points.

Good luck with that, I will be ready to defend Cooper when this inevitably doesn't happen!

First nugget of positivity, we play Brentford for the 2nd time, 3 days before Toney's ban ends. So we get to play them twice without him.

Well if they can't take 6 points from Burnley & Sheffield Utd at home what chance is there of anything?
They've shown they can nick a point at Stamford Bridge already, that leaves nicking 1 more at Arsenal, Manure or City, that's the only stretch target.
Plus they are already a much stronger team than last seasons start, before any new signings.

Ha this is exactly what I mean, just because you'd expect to beat those sides, doesn't mean that you win every game you are favourite in. It also doesn't mean there is no hope if we don't. Already you're essentially putting these two games on a pedestal as must win. It's literally the first two home games, there are 38 not 6.
This debate will be exhausting for the first few months next season.

I'm with you McD! Positivity!! If we manage 6 points.....we're on track for survival with 4 of the 'hardest' games out of the way. Although, yes, I hope we're aiming higher than simply survival but it has to be the first target!

I suppose another positive is that our early home form should be good still, maintain the fortress.
Sheff U, Burnley, Brentford, Luton
Will be a lot of early pressure which isn't ideal but you'd expect somewhere in the region of 8+ points from those 4. Given most points come at home anyway, it should allow us to stay outside the relegation zone early on hopefully, just not by much.

More slight positives, we've got 4 teams in Europe straight after European weeks out of the first 6 which is good. Although given there's 8 teams in Europe this year not entirely unexpected!
