Would have preferred Back over Gabriel, but not major dramas there.

If Samba gaffs again, it will be an insane idea starting with Samba.  But Hughton is giving him his chance.

If zinc can get Back to start some link up play with fornah during the game to become an attacking threat down the right (yea I know it was ‘only’ Bradford) then hopefully he’s been working with Gabriel in training to get balls to him so he can get those kinda balls into the area for grabs. The athletic spoke with Taylor who said he and grabs both can’t wait for some of the balls zinc will deliver like he did for Joao.

I understand that, but a midfield of Yates and Colback together doesn’t work. Also it doesn’t matter who the 4 in front of them are because the two CDM’s don’t get the ball forward quick enough.

I'm sure Hughton understands it as well.  But in the absence (which Hughton hinted at post match...) of better options provided by recruitment...  If Garner was here, he'd play instead of Colback. He may try Fornah later on in this game (which I'm hoping for.)

The thing I saw on Twitter that analysed some of the play against Bournemouth shows Colback getting dragged out of position to cover the LB (though I’m not sure that is his job 100%) and also yates not pushing high enough when they were in possession. So was Colbacks mistakes a headache of looking after Bong when maybe he was under threat or does CH want Jordi to have extra protection because he’s playing out of position (kinda)

Probably a bit of both. Quality of the opposition will have been a factor too in Colback covering the full back.

And I dont accept that the Colback Yates partnership doesnt work. CH was saying the two dcm's allow more freedom for the offensive players such as Johnson. He said it was about finding a balance, which I thought was a fair enough statement.

All irrelevant we can argue tactics after the game now. The line up isn't going to change let's just hope they can get a result.

In 2hrs time we could be mid table looking up or bottom of the league. Let's just see... I'm hopeful we can win this.

So Blackburn sold their best player and top scorer for £15M and haven't replaced him.

Their remaining best player Dack is out injured.

They played their first 11 in the cup and lost at home to Morecambe. And for tonight from that side they've lost Nyambe to injury.

And they've only won 1 away match since January.

Great opportunity for a win tonight :)
