If I remember well Ponte was the first foreign player ever to sign for Forest?

Jurgen Rober of Nottingham Forest in 1982. Jurgen was signed by Brian Clough and became the first German to play for the club.

Spotted this elsewhere, Nottingham Forest’s last ever major trophy. A 1-0 win over Oldham in the 1990 League Cup final, with Nigel Jemson getting the goal. Brian Clough’s side included England Italia ‘90 squad members, Stuart Pearce, Des Walker & Steve Hodge
