? Nottingham Forest intend to hand Vitor Pereira new long-term contract. #NFFC hierarchy & players said to be happy with 57yo + talks planned over extension (current deal June 2027). Club also aim - as things stand - to keep all key players @TheAthleticFC

Beat me to it Wassy
Not sure about the all key players, pretty clear Anderson is going.
The thing with Vitor, just my opinion and sorry if it annoys anyone, I have a feeling we will give him a new contract…….and in December we will be looking for a new head coach.

If I’m being cynical, it looks like we tried for Silva and he’s off to Benfica, so we’re sticking with VP. I’m really pleased with what I’ve seen so far. He has changed the mood within the club and prioritises tactics rather than just running. Let’s hope we back him in the Summer and he continues his good start

It’s a fair opinion, and not overly controversial.

Give Vitor good players and he will cook.
He won’t be in charge of recruitment !
He will just be telling them the profiles that he needs to succeed.
If MGW likes him, which he does, we’re winning the battle !
He’s bought the Nuno family vibe back, whilst giving the attacking players more freedom

Yeah not entirely sure we needed to give him a longer contract. It'll be nice to have some consistency for a change though. Hopefully a calm summer will allow a good start.

No manager who has been here since EM has been solely in charge of recruitment but he, like all others before, will have a say.

It’s good to know Pereira is the man for next season. We’ve played some enjoyable football under him. It’s fun going to games now. Let’s hope it continues with solid recruitment and a good pre season.

I think this is very important ^^
Not only does MGW like him but ALL the players like him.
With that family spirit and camaraderie we are half way there.
I am happy for Vitor to stay.

As a caveat, the bottom part could be true of any manager we hire in the summer.
I'm a little dubious too based on his history; lasts an average of around 45 games at every club he's been to before, drops to 43 in Europe. But his audition was a good one, he's gotten us playing very well, hard to beat and scoring goals. He's also made expensive purchases, who I thought looked a lost cause, give a glimmer of hope for next season in McAtee and Bakwa and, as mentioned, brought a lot more harmony and togetherness back into the team. All of this after what was an absolute circus of a season.
I'm glad it's being sorted early, not only for clarity but also because it suggests that either Edu's replacement is already pulling strings in the background or somebody like Syrianos is already making the big decisions. Either way it hopefully sets us up for a much better summer.
