I will be hugely disappointed if Serge is allowed to leave. Thought he was immense vs Rashford today.

Its the swapping Serge for Montiel that doesn’t add up. Even if Serge gets a transfer fee assume we would be paying a loan fee for Montiel. Is he a better player? Maybe but we wouldn’t be replacing one of our weaker players. The there is the off field issues which as requested I wont discuss but its just an unnecessary risk.

Maybe he's seen as a bit of a bargain and a player they wouldn't nornally be able to attract, without the controversy thats currently surrounding him?

My concern is that now we're a premier league side there's no hiding from any bad headlines and controversy that these things cam generate, regardless of an individual's innocence.

We currently have a CB issue with JW banned and SM injured. Serge should slot in as right CB (alongside. Boly and Niakate). His squad value is beyond a right back. Obviously recruiting better fit CBs would give us future options. But def need him in the short term

I wasn't fussed when he signed but when he came on at halftime to make his debut vs Leicester away, I thought he was the only one of our players that looked like a Premier League player that night.

Thought he had a brilliant 1st season with us and was key in our survival.

Wish him nothing but the best.
