I agree it's just the risk of injuries, I'm not sure we can afford too many more first teamers being out for the sake of a trip to Grimsby. An injury to William's MGW or Mckenna and we have problems.

I wouldn't say i'm overhyping injuries to league 2 opposition in a game that had we still be in the championship would have been a weakened first 11.

I get what you're saying but that's massive recency bias. I'd argue the injuries occurred due to a lack of matches too, so a chance for a glorified training match is a prime opportunity to build fitness.
If we'd had the entire squad available for all of preseason and the majority already played a year together I'd agree, however that is not our situation.
It's irrelevant anyway, he'll definitely make loads of changes.
I'm pretty sure he will but it should be a strong enough 11 to get a result.
