He had no-one to call on today. Seems a bit harsh. We were well and truly walloped tonight but I think as soon as the first goal went in you could sense it. Wasn't sure what the formation was but I would have probably done a 3-5-2 with two wing backs. Bakwa and williams. The midfield got killed tonight but I think generally he has been very good. We got John Mcginned. That bloke is seriously good and Villa are rubbish without him.
Chicago: Having a more positive view.

It’s all about opinions JWJW. I’ts an unpopular one, but it’s mine. Happy for you to think otherwise……
I got caught up in the romanticism of Dyche (the old forest boys act) but his PL track record isn’t hovering around at the top end of the league. EM is ambitious (as we know) and the next phase will be to qualify for Europe more regularly. Based on last night plus and other games under Vítor we have ridden our luck and been clinical. That isn’t sustainable (imho) to get you to the next level.
I haven’t said silva is a god, but he has got an average looking Fulham team with terrible support into the top 10 of the PL consistently, and with a decent brand of football.
We would be foolish not to want someone or something similar. Vitor has done brilliantly, but to move on we have to be clinical and not romanticise.
Again - my opinion.

I've always been in the Vitor is not the long term solution camp.
He's done an amazing job but the club needs a lot of sorting out at the end of the season and the manager is one of them.

I'm in the Vitor stays camp.
I think we are desperate for some stability, and changing manager again is a risk.
We need to sort out the Edu/Dir Football role and become more joined up between the manager and owners.
Vitor has proved that he can get the players to perform, and he is bold with tactical changes and substitutions.

5 year net spend
1) Manchester United five-year net spend: £-684.61m
2) Arsenal five-year net spend: £-675.77m
3) Chelsea five-year net spend: £-643.81m
4) Tottenham five-year net spend: £-578.86m
5) Newcastle United five-year net spend: £-430.61m
6) Liverpool five-year net spend: £-423.75m
7) Manchester City five-year net spend: £-397.78m
8) Nottingham Forest five-year net spend: £-328.86m
11) Fulham five-year net spend: £-143.36m
16) Aston Villa five-year net spend: £-98.67m
19) Wolves five-year net spend: £-1.93m
20) Brighton five-year net spend: £0.53m
I would say therefore Fulham should be in or around the top 10. The manager has not outpeformed really based on spending.

So lets say VP stays and in December we are in 17th place. The grumbles will start very quickly. In that scenario we all know what eventually happens and we are back to square one. Im not fussed as much who we have, just want some stability at this club for once.
Im not particularly excited about Silva but I think EM would allow him longer to build. Vitor has always been a short term firefighter of a manager. A very good one at that specific thing as we have seen but reckon thats his niche.

My main worry about Silva is similar to what happened with Dyche. He's always done well with a small squad on a limited budget but can he actually level up with a bigger budget.
That said, some midtable stability would be nice for a change, although I will miss playing every few days.

Biggest appointment this summer will be the replacement for Edu. Silva is likely to get a better job than ours as there's going to be a lot of manager movement this summer. 9 prem clubs have questions about who their manager might be next season.
Let's park the chaos of this season, stick with Vitor, get a proficient director of football in and build something big.

Vitor has a great record as a firefighter, a galvaniser.
It's whether he is truly the man to take that one to build something long term.
