Hi Sean, can you help us out?
9 games in premier league and we're in 5 points, having won only one game all season despite having England internationals, the golden glove winner last year and some amazing young talent (apparently) Yes of course 12 games later wins 5 and draws one, loses 6. With that same team that for roughly same amount of games had a single win and 2 draws which included f*****g Burnley. Sack him?

Bloody rubbish. I like the bloke but f*****g hell can we get the team playing with some style and attacking verve. Jesus in another team would get a hat full. Poor bugger is smoking a cigarette on the the centre line. no-one near him at all. He has not chance of scoring if it's lumped up to him surrounded by three defenders.
Maybe it will be different at Wrexham. I f*****g hope so. Something needs to change. Hopefully this is a confidence thing. Chicago: Suffering from a headache.

Jesus in another team would get a hatful? Really not.

Exactly. Another sacking this season would disrupt the team further, would send out an appalling message, and would put off many candidates.
I know we had different expectations, but this season has become about grinding out points to stay up and hopefully a run deep into the Europa. Villa (a) Everton (h) & (a) Man City (a) Fulham (a) Brighton (h) Bournemouth (a) All the losses bar Brighton are in fixtures we often struggle in tbf

I seem to remember Dunk being sent off for swearing at Anthony Taylor around a VAR review that gave us a penalty, in a game we lost 3-2.

Ultimately come May we will be able to make a sound assessment and then the decision can be made as to which route we take.

If I recall correctly we took the lead then Pedro got a couple including a dodgy penalty to make it 3-1 before CHO got pulled back for a Penalty to us though ref initially missed it (I know, imagine that!) and VAR intervened. Dunk protested and as you say was sent off. Took my 10 yr old daughter that day for her first game. We were sat Brian Clough lower near the away fans and just remember at the end Forest fans around us laughing and shouting go on girl as she was stood on her seat waving at the Brighton fans telling them to pipe down :Funny:

Perspective is difficult sometimes. After 21 games we have had the following records showing that apart from last season, this is about how we've performed:
25/26 = 17th 21 6 3 12 21 34 -13 21 24/25 = 3rd 21 12 5 4 30 20 10 41 23/24 = 17th 21 5 5 11 26 38 -12 16* (4 pts deducted) 22/23 = 13th 21 6 6 9 17 35 -18 24 Biggest difference last year was the number of goals we conceded and that we scored a few more. It don't really prove anything other than our expectations have increased and our ability really hasn't
At half time last night, I had lost all hope, I could not see us getting back into it and thought this was the beginning of the end of this Prem chapter.
When their second went in I started to contemplate what time I should leave (I very rarely leave before full time to the extent that I can clearly remember when I do…Coventry away many years ago, I think we were three nil down to Darren Huckerby). I said to my Dad that if they get a third I’m done, I also concluded that Sean had to go post game and asked who should be brought in to oversee our sleepwalk back to the Championship. Then VAR stepped in, it was suddenly one nil, my brain couldn’t comprehend it. Everything goes against us doesn’t it? Then Domi flicked on from a corner, he’d been shyte in my opinion, a glorified water carrier who won the odd 50:50 but had contributed very little otherwise. I felt we could potentially hang on for a point, actually hoped rather than felt because it was like watching two tramps fight over a bag of chips and neither had the energy to throw a punch. Then MGW goes down in the area, he’s dived and we’re trying to run the clock down, hang on, VAR is reviewing it, then the referee goes over, surely it’s nailed on if they’ve asked the referee to look at it? He’s f*****g given it!!! Oh f**k, MGW is taking it. I was in the away end in Graz when he missed his penalty and some of his attempted flicks tonight were way off so he’s gonna miss another one, I can’t really watch but can’t look away, he’s hit it straight down the middle, Nipples is bound to save it with his legs but even from the other end of the pitch we can see that the net has bulged, something crossed between a scream and a shout leaves my throat, like someone in a yodelling competition. I’m not really sure what to do. I’m a little confused to be honest. We’re winning Nuno, Nuno, Nuno, we’re on the piss with Nuno. The ground is less than half empty. It looks like Meadow Lane on a match day. You can actually see the different patterns and colours on the seats. The whistle goes, we’ve f*****g won. The walk back to the Westfield to find the car, I remind my Dad that we’re still competing on three fronts. Wrexham away is no longer an annoyance, a disruption we could do without, but a chance to get to Wembley. Start our strongest eleven (bar Anderson and Williams) and let’s put them to bed in ninety minutes (let’s not repeat Exeter away from last season). At 50 minutes last night I fully expected this thread to be closed and a new manager thread in full flow!!! |
