"Win ugly"
Forest did that vs Wigan. With a double dose of luck.
Can Forest 'do' our other bogey side, Blackburn (who have dished out one or two lashings towards Forest in the past...)
Win Ugly II? It's earning the right. Again.
'I'd rather be a lucky manager.' Billy Davies.

thanks Joe, overall they speak very highly of us and hold us in very high regard and don't seem to have any confidence in what seems a somewhat depleted and constantly reshuffled Rovers team, just forget the tinkering, stick with a solid if slightly defensive set up and we should be ok

Dack has been their best player this season, so with him out it has got to be a good time to play them. We need to find some goals as we could do with winning this one.

Forest v Blackburn 1-1-2020
A few extra ones from their Forum this morning.....
Huddersfield hadn't beaten us at home for over 20 years before Sunday, means nothing.
I'll be amazed if today isnt the most comfortable 90 minutes that Forest have all season, we have reverted back to type until probably March now when we'll probably win 3 in a row and everything will be rosy again.
The probable outcome unfortunately...
The lack of faith in Mowbray and the team is apparent and it's difficult to argue with. These fallow periods which have been a constant in Mowbrays tenure are depressing. To add some balance we can also go on winning/unbeaten runs too but this aspect of Mowbrays management is really frustrating and it's during the poor runs that the apathy towards him increasingly grows.
Personally I am traveling down in a forlorn hope that we can win but being realistic I expect a defeat and lots of excuses about injuries and tiredness.
It says a lot when we are 1 defeat out of a decent unbeaten run and still handily placed how much indifference their is amongst the fans.
That's because of the manner of the disjointed performances when there really is no need for it. No guarantees you'll win of course but setting out square pegs in round holes and zero balance in the side tends to make it easier for the opposition to cancel us out.
Lets hope today is another away day where it just clicks and the swift counter attacking is deployed. When that happens we look good in patches and often win.
Even though it's only one defeat in terms of points it's actually worse than if we'd won one of those matches and lost the other two. If the draws had been decent performances I think the feeling would be a bit different, but they were abject enough to feel like a defeat even though they weren't. At the very least we need a good performance today to get the wind back in our sails, even if we only manage a draw.
I think we will play much better today to be fair.
We all knew deep down we'd struggle against the likes of Wigan and Brum deep down, who both admitted they came for a draw. Theres always that hope that things will be different this time, but they rarely are! Ultimately that's one of the reasons we always falter when play offs are mentioned.
Forest will have a go today and leave a lot more space to exploit.
Hoping for 2 up top preferably Brereton and Graham but that's probably unlikely sadly.
Match day nerves are kicking in, as I'm not too sure I can stomach a defeat today. I still feel like we will lose and be left wilting, after picking up two points form the last 4 games.
I foresee a 2-0 loss with Mowbray blaming it on our lack of creativity, without specifically mentioning Dack's injury, despite no more than three players playing in their actual position's.
What a t**t of a decade to be a Rovers fan.
Our most difficult match over the festivities and we may be down to bare bones.
Presuming Nyambe is still hamstrung then we know who will be RB.
I'm guessing that Holtby, Evans and Williams will still be unavailable.
So, TM to select same back 4 that finished the last game,
Arma, Travis, Johnson and Chapman to occupy midfield, with Brereton and Gallagher up top.
Heaven knows what will happen when Tosin and Walton loans run out as we aren't blooding enough youngsters.

this is the time to release the beast, step forward ben brereton, he`ll be like a rampaging water buffalo dribbling through the forest defence like tom finney on acid, mark my words, this is the beginning of his rovers stardom
^^This made me smile

Forest v Blackburn 1-1-2020
Blackburn Fans comments during match and post match...
BB to play and prove us all wrong
(Yes i have been drinking but would be so happy if he came good)
Give him a run of games, playing up front, simple as that really but highly doubtful it will happen. Strikers are confidence players, with the best will in the world he ain't ever gonna get that sat there on the bench.
So 4-4-2 with Arma and Brereton up front presumably.
The tombola strikes again. The bloke hasn’t the foggiest as to his best 11.
No goals in that team but I suppose theres little scope to change that. Although why Graham isnt playing I do not know. With players like Bell, Bennett and Brereton in it we are always going to be up against it.
Rothwell isn't playing well, so keeps his place. When he has done well in the past, can't get in. Makes sense.
Sow playing for Forest, back from injury. Forest fans seemed to think their game might hinge on him.
Start paying back your huge fee Brereton...shape yourself!
Hope he turns that corner quicker than Ben turns on the pitch !
Come on Ben ..do something daft and score !
The Tony Tombola comes up with Brereton. Tony needs a new tombola
Forest wins will give him some stick. Odds on he disappears and gets subbed at half time
left and right back well struggle today if i was forest i would get at them from the frist whistle . Can see us getting anything from this hope im wrong 2-0 to forest
Normally get a decent result at Forest but with that side I can't see it unfortunately
Reports from ground say only about 700 Rovers fans on
If there's any game for BB to be motivated you'd think it would be this one.
Must be circa 30 changes in 5 matches. Most other teams don’t seem to be doing it - so why us? As I say, he hasn’t a clue as to his best 11 and I expect we’ll see much of the same even when we’re playing Saturday > Saturday.
Perhaps BB wore his "100 goals in training" t-shirt during the last session and it caught Tony's wandering eye?
He moaned about lack of consistency early season both results and player wise yet he ran the tombola every week. It obviously seized up from over use so he stuck with a horses for courses side where possible and actual tactics that suited it for a few games. Surprise surprise we went on a winning run.
The min the tombola got fixed we are back to being all over the shop again, ridiculous. Lets just hope today is one of those exception to the rule days he's so good a pulling out of the blue.
Rothwell needs to reset his radar his passing has been shocking
We might be able to pass it a bit.
Few things more frustrating than your only striker refusing to go in the box.
We don't look too bad at the moment...…..
Spoke too soon... They are getting tight now.
We'll be sussed out by the 15 min mark and it will all go pear shaped.
We need a goal now!
Brereton... Dropping out of the box as we crossed it in.
He's been brilliant so far. He hasn't even fallen over yet.
Got away with one there. Free header!
We've looked okay, but lacking the final ball as per usual. I think Big Ben has a goal in him today.
what the absolute f*ck was that !!!!!
1-0 Forest. Happy new year lads.
Bollocks, we didn't deserve that
Joke of a goal...
New GK no.1 priority this month.
Joke of a goal...
New GK no.1 priority this month.
Soft goal to concede. Crappy game, boring to watch.
Unbelievable again! Lolley the cheating scrote scores against us again!
Penalty forest.
Piss off walton - please red card him ref
Deary deary me. This keepers a f*ckin idiot.
We need a goalkeeper, wish ref had sent him off.
Lofting balls into the box is the way to beat us.
Crap defending all round again. Left back nowhere, central defending non existent and keeper nowhere.
Pen to Forest now.
Sammy Shite Keeper
2-0 another Walton clanger.
This is going to get embarrassing.
Single handedly 2 Walton blunders in 2 mins!
Are we about to go on another one of Mowbray’s dreadful runs??
Yes Stu we are
Heck! Can I change my 'easy 2-0 win for Forest' prediction?
Where the f**ck is the effort? No end product at all.
Steele mk 2
Still convinced this Simon Conning dolloper will end up on our books full time soon....
Get Walton out!!
This game could be a lot nil
They have created nothing and we are 2 down in 25 mins. Soft as S**t .
good old Ben , never quite gets to the ball but he tried , poor lamb.
That fatigue thing really hurts us doesn’t it Tony?
Has Tosin changed his surname to Itoff because that's what he's doing here.
Can't believe there's some who think he's knocking on the door of City's first team.
Game over.
Well poor from ealton, but this is the second time this cheating badtard has dived for a penalty against us. Walton didnt touch him.
Considering we literally never come back from going behind I think we can forget about today. Onto the next match.
Don't worry folks Forest don't score many goals.
The first time Forest have scored more than two goals at home since mid August. Come on down Tony Mowbray, with his 28 changes in 5 games and a downgrade on the keeper we had last year, and we can accommodate you know problem.
He's absolute S**t but he's the level we're at now.
Football is dying for me, can't be f*cked with this f*cking S**t anymore.
We are absolutely S**t. Bell inviting yet another cross into the box and a Walton special wiping out the attacker. Three years in, we cannot defend for toffee.
I went out of the room to get a bottle of rum so missed it.
Why did Forest make a sub? Tactical or enforced?
Enforced. He split his sides laughing at Walton.
This is gonna get embarassing. Bennett is yet to make his "contribution" to Forest scoreline.
Well, might as well pack up and go home.
Please send this pathetic GK back to brighton ASAP. Bell and Bennett can find a new club too!
I make it 8 league goals in that 11 currently on the pitch. Grabban for them has 13.
Let's continue guys.
Currently we're only 4 points and 13 goals off the play-offs.
Annnnnd, Mowbray out. You live and die by your signings and team selections.
Walton is piss poor, just like Mowbs.
This will be 4 or 5.
this is undoubtedly the worst rovers side iv`e ever seen, devoid of attacking threats and can`t/won`t defend add to that a terrible goalkeeper, the side is even worse than the early 90`s one under the last vestige of don mackay, at least that one had some desire
We've literally gifted them the win. After just 25 f*cking minutes.
We've probably been the better team on the ball. But what's the point if you can't score and give goals away.
Edit - annnd we score a beaut!
From nowwhere DOWNING!!!
Cracking pass from rothwell in the build up to the goal
Get in but Forest goal imminent
Brilliant, as soon as switch to the Leicester game we score.
Now I daren't revert back to our game!
Great goal tbf - hides nothing though .
Has Brereton gone off???
he offers us absolutely f*ck all .

Continued....
Definite handball there missed by the ref
Evans should have had the equaliser there
Handball not given.
Then Evaaaannnnsss, urrgghhh! Where the heck is our CF?
Brereton has easily had his best game for us but we still need Graham on.
Best game??? Well I suppose he has just won us a free kick on the half way line. You don’t get much for £7million these days .... and we bloody haven’t!!
Not sure he’s good at anything - and that’s not being unkind. Not strong, not quick, not a good finisher, doesn’t hold it up that well. What an earth have we bought for £7 million Mowbray?
I do wonder if he has managed to perform at youth level because he was tall for his age. Maybe he has always been average and football has just caught him up...
Downing has been exceptional. Forest are dropping off.. could get something from this.
We suddenly appear to have realized there is a game on..well I never!!
I think Forest have lost their discipline and it's helping us out. Standard 2 goal up complacency.
Hopefully they come out with a similar attitude. After around 30mins Tosin, Lenihan, Travis, Downing started getting a lot of space which they didn't have earlier.
Commentator: "Blackburn will argue maybe they should be level, Bennett."
Bennett and Bell as usual, crap. Lolley knew Bell is the weak link and it showed.
Rovers woke up in the last 10-15 mins and played much better. Evans should have tucked in the equaliser but not complaining after a horrible showing in the first half hour or so.
If we can start the 2nd half like how we ended the first, we will have a chance.
Absolutely blatant pen not given from Rothwells shot, who aside has been rather poor.
Hells Bells! On iFollow they are always saying that Brereton is the really thick dopey one.
Not watching, but sounds like we are shite. How is Brereton getting on?
May as well not be playing.
Like the football equivalent of a dog chasing it's own tail
We won the first half 60-40 possession.
I'll be surprised if this ends anything other than 3-1.
Feels like we never turn results around.
Brereton now on wing players need games and rhythm this manager is a joke
There's definitely something in this game for us now, Forest looked really nervy after conceding, how are they 5th?
Rothwell was awful until a brilliant pass for Armstrong to set up Downing for the goal and then an excellent effort that 100% hit the defender's arm (though it was close to his body it was on target).
Stats give us almost 60% possession and better passing accuracy. Walton and Bell were poor for both goals.
There's hope as there is potential in this formation just hope it isn't false.
Like a sunday league manager.
Shite.
Looks like they have come out complacent. Let's get Graham on ASAP.
As I understand, Forest made a sub after 26mins to 'stop Armstrong'.
Moobs switched Armstrong and Brereton at half time to 'counteract' this.
Very interesting.
game over. f*ck off
£12 million spunked on two gangly ‘wingers’.
Totally dominated first 10 mins of half, Forest have one attack and we concede....
Bloody hell. Are we sure Walton is really a goalkeeper?
3-1, well I never. I thought Lenihan back solves all of our issues Tony?
Mowbray needs to walk
Another half time tactical masterstroke pays dividends i see....
Rothwell is a total liability. Loses possession like a baby.
Christ a slug moves quicker than downing, ameobi embarrisingly went past him there.
Walton wrong footed, poor again. Bad from Rothwell too, but looks so easy for them to score. They counter 2 v 4 and still we cant mark out Grabban. Joke
Forest last scored 3.......when ?
Imagine playing Jordan Rhodes on the wing, Mowbray would do it
Forest lowest home scorers in league, as soon as i heard that at begining of game i said to my mate "be a good 4-1 to forest this"
I think he will walk tonight
He'd f*cking trip over.
no chance,he won`t walk out on missing his severance pay and won`t get sacked because he`s waggots mate, only saving grace is he might walk at the end of the season if he can work out a pay off
What a monumental f*ck up the signing of Brereton has been. I can't think of one fundamental footballing attribute that the lad has.
Mowbray has, apparently, sat back down......he must be as embarrassed as we are.....what a dreadful manager he is. His signings, his selection , his tactics, his fitness, his coaching, his “ cosy”dressing room his depressing voice..his gloom.....his fault
BBC has us at 67% possession. I presume much of that is whilst picking the ball out of the net? Beggars belief, the ineptitude of our current set up.
own goal
Nice ball from that sh*thouse Rothwell there. Crap control and an OG.
get in - 3-2 own goal, our leading scorer from earlier in the season is back !
BBC has us at 67% possession. I presume much of that is whilst picking the ball out of the net? Beggars belief, the ineptitude of our current set up.
They’ve scored on the break three times.
What sort of idiot stops wearing his lucky scarf during an unbeaten run ?
Dumbo and his fecking feather.
Lol. Forest are so S**t.
ah ha what a stunner that is
This is horrid. I cant believe the drastic turn around. Dacks injury aside the last few showings have been filth. Bennett is dirt too, leaking goals down his side everytime he plays. Get him away from the team and cut your losses with Brereton. Joke!
I didnt realise how awkward and un-athletic Bennett looked til the huddersfield game. He looks kind of chunky with short legs
started looking down the table instead of up? Where's the next win coming from?
I have stopped looking at it full stop. Dont know when I will be able again.
even Tosin is wayward with his passing it’s like we can’t do the simple stuff anymore
Chapman trying to make stuff happen at least even though it’s not coming off, Rothwell another in that club
Give the guy a break. Just got a superb assist.
Lol. Forest are so S**t.
Just owned Ameobi!
How are we losing to this forrest team
We look so much more threatening without Brereton on.
there is now a queue forming behind us in the table. It shouldn't be like this. 2 week disaster. Last season all over again. Ben Brereton is not scoring 20 goals as long as he lives. Chapman was lively for what it may be worth.
Cheer up, only one defeat in 2020 and most possession in the championship this year, onwards and upwards
Lots of puff n huff but nothing else.
Mowbray a manager who has, yet again, lost his way.
Very poor defending yet again and conceding very soft goals. I was closer to beating Ameobi to his free header and as for the pen, just a disgrace from Walton. Concede 3 soft goals and the possession stats don’t mean a thing.
The goal keeper cost us that game. Plus Brereton was like playing with 10 men. We are desperate for a decent striker they can play every week
It was weird at the time and seems downright insane now. If they were thinking they were going to develop the lad and sell him for £20m+ then that plan is truly up in smoke. We'd be lucky to get £700k for him right now.
Forest were pretty S**t weren't they? You can see why they took a couple of absolute batterings recently.
They looked really relieved to win. We gifted them goals. I think they only had one other decent chance (a header).
brereton is the worst signing in rovers history, never in my football watching life have i seen a pro player who is difficient in every department, it`s astonishing how he managed to make it to this level,i`ve seen some poor players in my time, but in every instance, they`ve been terrible but have always had one good attribute, chris brown for example,a shocking player but at least he tried and was a good header of the ball, luke varney, terrible, but at least he could pass the ball, ashley ward,a carthorse but could always control a football and hold it up,brereton can`t do anything,he looks like he belongs on whitton park
The logic behind the Brereton transfer is incredibly sound. Young English striker. Develop him, get him to perform a bit in the Championship and then sell him on for a tidy profit.
The problem is that we were the club that he got moved on to whilst Forest got the profit !
To be honest I think the logic kind of falls apart when you're talking £7m. That's a big risk on a young player who may or may not make it. It's a great strategy if you're spending smaller amounts, Dack as an example at just £750k. At this level Brereton's fee should be reserved for the type of player who can come in and make an instant impact, not a future prospect.
Certainly made logical sense from Forest's perspective though. They're laughing all the way to the bank.
Yep, although in Forest's case Brereton was a free transfer after Stoke released him, so it's not like they even paid anything for him initially. Pure profit. I bet they couldn't believe their luck.
The £7m curse strikes again!

I thought Blackburn were a tidy team, with one or two quality additions they could easily be a top six side.
