Joao Carvalho
I guess when it comes to carvalho it doesn't matter now, Freeman is a better player and plays the same position.

Was just frustrating that it felt like we had a player under Karanka when admittedly he clearly built a team around him. Whereas since then changes in tactics meant his position didn't exist and he wasn't really capable of playing anywhere else apart from that one position.

He's not the only player who's struggled not playing in the correct position, seems like you get less leeway as a CM in that regard. As I said doesnt matter now we've moved on and it sounds like the same will be said of him. If we can't find anyone that he won't be in the team alongside Freeman so backup unless injuries occur

But not for the right reasons...

If I were him (assuming he wants to stay) I'd be hanging for a little bit longer.

2 things iv read on this page..

1, its been said joao does not assist enough? He got more assists in his first season than silva, and most of the new signings in the past 3 windows?

2, if mendes is pulling his signings out then that will mean lamouchi is going because he is also a mendes client?

Trying to force him out would be my guess. And same goes for Adomah. In his case he might want a move to Cardiff but the club not prepared to sell to a direct rival?

One can only hope.

Carvalho's finished at Forest anyway. Only AK has managed to get a tune out of him. MoN wasnt interested and Sabri's given him the odd opportunity and he's simply failed to deliver. The other Saturday was a prime example.

He's got talent, we're just in the wrong league for him.

The question is:

Have Forest failed Carvalho or has Carvalho failed Forest?

Fair question.
Different coach = different Carvalho?

A bit of both I reckon.

It still comes back to the point if he had cost £1.3M nobody would care. Unfortunately he cost 10 times that but it isnt really his fault.

If he truly were £13m worth of player then he wouldn't be languishing on the periphery of our squad. He needs to move on, if he stays much longer he's in danger of pissing his career up the wall. We need to move on too.

I think he's suffered the most from AK not finishing the season. Probably also suffering from the fact that 4231 went a little out of fashion so less teams play with someone in that position.

For 13m you'd hope he could adapt his game to either offer something out wide or the role silva played last year. So a bit of both, honestly think he'd have been a success if AK had managed to stay a year

Ask not what Nottingham Forest can do for Joao - ask what Joao can do for Nottingham Forest
