Some completely over the top reactions on here. Exeter dominated with 10 men? Get a grip. Yes, it wasn't great but we are through to the next round.

Positive
A win is a win and the media didn’t get their headline so they go back to talking about Man City who now basically have the FA cup as their only chance of winning anything. Tonight gets forgotten about. Rest up and 3 clear days to prepare for Fulham.

All 4 of our pens scored by substitutes.

Well now I slept on it my thoughts
Pitch was a big leveler, ball was slowing down and didn't allow players to move the ball quickly. As rubbish as var is proves how bad the refs are without it. That back 4 won't play with each other again and 3 of the 4 won't be here next season The pressure to impress was to much for the GK and lost concentration. Playing three defensive midfielders wasn't allowing us to create. Out second string wingers have a lot to learn and fast if they want to be here next season. Sangare is a player but questions.about pace to survive in the premier league. That said we won. Team kept going Players will be focused and not think they can turn up and win Some mins into legs of players and removed a bit of rust. Playing games close together is good practice for a European campaign. But a win is a win and it doesn't matter who it is against. Find a way to get through when playing bad is a sign of a good team.

Comedy gold with the meltdown on here at the first sign of a spot of bother.
What were you all expecting exactly, did you honestly think it was going to be easy? Check the history of the FA Cup, check the history of FA Cup upsets. And finally get a f*****g grip!

Picking players who have never played together and expecting them to win a battle of a game on a dodgy pitch in front of a partisan crowd was a huge error imo. People saying yeah, we got through, nothing to worry about etc are not reflecting the true performance. We played 40 minutes of football against a third tier team with 10 men and could've easily lost the game had they scored one of their chances missed. It was pathetic all around.

Harsh last sentence Pap.
First of all lets give Exeter some credit. Second that was a new experience for many of our boys last night playing in an environment like that and against a team like that. I totally get why Nuno did what he did. Imagine the meltdown on here if he had picked our stronghest team and the likes of Murillo and Milenkovic picked up injuries, poor old Nuno would have got slaughtered. I think a big problem was our preperation and that trip to Dubai. Does a trip to Dubai in 35 degree heat and a bit of a jolly up prepare you for a freezing cold night on a dog shit pitch in Exeter on a Tuesday night. I am not convinced the preparation and the mindset was right.

There was certainly no big club bias from the ref last night.

It was there Cup Final... The manager probably gave a Braveheart speech which fired a rocket up them. It's as simple as that. |
