+1

I’m guessing that Freeman would’ve been subbed - if he hadn’t just come on as sub  :(

Samba- 9 outstanding handling today. Excellent.
Christie- 6 had a good game but was at fault for first goal
Bong- 6 OK - actually coped well with fatty freeman in front of him
Worrall-10 immense
Figgs-8 would have been a 9 but too many free kicks
Cafu- 6 OK
Garner- 8 useful debut
Korinovic- 6 would like to see him on a decent pitch
Knockeart- 6 works hard but flatters to deceive for me...
Ameobi- 7 for the assist
Grabban-7 much better

Freeman- 4 poor - very poor. I really rated him but clearly unfit and exposed our left hand side
Murray- NA - didn’t touch ball - ref didn’t help
Colback- 6 typical yellow card but vocal and covered the left hand side
Blackett- would like to see him have a start at LB

Some good scores.

Krono and Knocker higher than 6s!

It was noticeable to me when Krono' went off.  Our expansive play seemed to sag.

Glad that Colback got minutes under his belt.

Freeman.  Unfit!  Wave after wave of Coventry attack down that side.

Garner. Most impressive on his debut with expansive passing.

Krono's time and Space making Forest tick.

The pair were a right handful.  They had Coventry spinning.

It's been a long while since we've had so much wasp like activity around the opposition box.

Still buzzing. Horrendous conditions and yet a very watchable game of football.  Watching goal conceded back, Christie was unfortunate as he slipped, Figs probably should have closed down as ball came in. But otherwise defence was excellent- even Bong did ok for the most part, despite Dacosta giving him a tough time.

Negatives
Slightly sloppy goal conceded-albeit conditions contributed.
Injury to Ameobi.
Couldnt get a 3rd to put game to bed, so hanging on in last 20 minutes
Freeman still struggling
Sheep didn't lose.

Positives
3 points
Some really slick attacking play in first hour
3 point
Solid defensively-mostly
3 points
Grabban fully on song
3 points
Some promising midfield play
3 points
Sheff Utd need 1 more point.
Did Imention the 3 points gained?

£10 well spent...

Korinovic and Garner made a big difference.

Now we have Yates and Colback and Sow and Cafu all fighting to be the third person in midfield - provided CH keeps using Garner and Korinovic.

Not impressed by Cafu in the defensive role............. Yates and Sow are better.

Not sure where Colback fits in if Yates and Sow are fit.

Freeman looks very unfit

i think Knocky released Christie for the 2nd and probably involved for the first

Grabban, despite recent misses, looks a class or 2 above the other options, also cleared off the line again for Figs to complete the clean up

Brice Samba absolutely outstanding performance, the cleanest of impossible takes i've ever seen, possibly over confident for the unfortunate punch at the end, hope the other fella is ok

Samba had every right to go for that ball that wiped out the Coventry player. If you look at it again, he made no contact with the Coventry player with his fist. He punched the ball cleanly but his (and the Cov players) momentum caused the collision, which he caught him with his shoulder. I too hope the other lad is ok though. But it was brave goalkeeping, which we don't see that often to be honest nowadays!

Also a special mention for his one handed catch, under pressure and high over his head. Excellent bit of goal keeping.

I have been critical of Samba and Grabban this season but credit where credit is due they were both excellent last night. I like to think that I am fair.

The spine of the team was excellent Samba, Worrall, Garner, Grabban.

Samba back to his best last night. Looked solid all game, came out for the ball well. The save low to his right from Hamer was also a good stop.

I agree Sniff. I am one of Grabbans biggest critics on here, largely because we all know he can be an exceptional player, but sadly hasn't been that great this season. However, last night he did have a much better game and his application and attitude were so much better, so credit is due to him for that.

Did he up his game because he feels he now has stiffer competition for his place in Murray, or was his game upped for him by us having a much more balanced and positive midfield (first half especially)? I suspect the latter.

I only listened to the match last night, but it sounded like we were much improved and worth the 3pts on the first half alone.

Frey picked out Worrall & Samba as the two star men, also heaping a lot of praise on Filip for his obvious much-needed attacking quality (which you could see in the last game), and he seemed to be impressed with Garner too.

Massive result, very happy with that & very relieved. I think we've turned a corner anyway, but let's smash it home now with another 3pts against Wycombe Sat.

Would be lovely to give Hughton 3-4 games season end to experiment a bit for next year.

Well done lads! COYR!!
