I paid £150 the first season after covid
I paid £455 this season
I'm going to pay £850 next year

I literally don't think I can justify going if the prices go up any more, thats 20% more than my rent! Even if every season card in the ground was £800 they'd only make ~£4m a year more than keeping them £550, which covers half of Origi's wages or allows us to sign one player like Josh Bowler. Can't say i'm happy with the prices, especially as the majority of the people who have cards now were willing to pay to watch Houghton-ball. Of course i'm going to renew still, but we should expect the quality of the offering both on and off the pitch to be at least 20% better if we're paying 20% more.

I worry it will affect the atmosphere.

Its a problem affecting every club, increasing prices ultimately means more old farts like me who have a relatively high disposable income. It excludes younger fans already struggling with cost of living but traditionally of course football should be the sport of the young working class male and they are the ones who are going to sing and make more of an atmosphere.

Thus why 70% of other Prem grounds (especially London) are terrible atmosphere.

I have an issue as I’m directly affected by the youth price change. My son is 18 in July and misses out on youth price by days and pays adult price. My outlay is more than double for next season at £1700. An impossible price to pay. Feel a bit let down to be honest.

I can see why Oz that was my point the other day around circumstances and pricing normal folk out of football.

Of course I’ll pay it- he is due to go to uni in Notts and having been with him since he was 5 it is in some way priceless. However, for the money the club makes on this v the vast amount of waste it really grates. Someone better at maths than me will work it out but I bet it’s less than Shelvey and Origi wasted outlay.

The shameless waiting list also puts a sting on it too - almost
so what someone else will pay it. I love Forest but at the moment feel that I’d rather watch an illegal stream than fork out £100+ per match.

I've been to Fulham. No singing, lame plastic clappers to try to help, but ok they're posh. Its Fulham.

Went to Spurs' new ground, fantastic and designed with acoustics in mind, but the fans just sat there. Now and then there was a lame rendition of 'When the Spurs go marching in...', but it was embarrassing. A group of youngish professionals in front of me half joined in for a couple of lines to get something for the socials. What a waste of a great stadium. 

Arsenal just sat there waiting to be entertained when I went to the Emirates, but it was clear a lot were there on freebies (I was invited with work too for an arbitrary match, and also didn't care who won).

Liverpool were 0-2 in Europe last week and where was the famous Anfield crowd? On TV when I listened in I could only hear what sounded like Atalanta. I guess the spectators had joined in with the famous dirge pre-kick-off so they already had something to upload to the socials.

Makes you wonder, how many points did we think a great home atmosphere is worth? And how much is each point worth? And are we jeopardizing that for the sake of what, an extra £3M in ticket revenue?

It is hard to justify the old argument that we need to raise prices to keep a competitive team when the extra revenue created wouldn't be enough to sign a single mediocre Championship player.
Or put it another way, only 10% of the amount we breached the PSR limit by.

£3m is pittance at PM level. Give something back. This is something a regulator should do - price limits across the board £30 top price by legislation going up by consumer price index. Statutory price bands. Concessions for OAP, u18 and u21-23. It’s the people’s game. I don’t know how some people do it. I’ve a decent job and so has my wife. We have 2 kids and are comfortable but starting to struggle by the end of the month. How some people afford this I never know. I know I’ve gone on a bit but it’s scandalous really. The club could have really done some good on this. Now the cup games where people are looking for a seat 10 minutes into a game and annoy everyone around them with their give me your shirt signs for their fat spoilt kid or a kid in the oppositions kit underneath a coat with some silly cow moaning that her little daring is being shouted at will really start to hit if we stay up. If we go down it will be much the same with people losing interest and selling them on the ticket exchange or having loads of empty seats around you. Short sighted and disappointing. I sit in a great view but with shocking standard of facilities.
God I sound like a right moaning old f****r but bloody hell - shocking.
