Reckon that line up gets a result.

I'd put Lowe in for Colback, think his pace would be better for this game.

As I'm not an away member, this is the 1st away game I've managed to get tickets for.
Anyone going got plans pre-game? Stadium is out of City is there anything near there?

Rest Johnson for a bit, take the pressure off, play him off the bench.
Mangala for Kouyate, calm on the ball and offers more attacking threat.
Awoniyi in for Johnson with Dennis moving to the right.

Henderson

Aurier (if fit)
Cook
McKenna
Toffolo

Yates
Frueler
Mangala

Dennis
Awoniyi
MGW

That's what I'd do, although I do worry about a lack of physicality and aerial ability if Kouate is left out.

When we talk about this season in the future, the non signing of the loan players will be it's defining characteristic. It'll be filed alongside the season where we didnt sign Shorey, when we sold Kevin Campbell, anf when we sold Collymore. And non Forest fans will never see another team 'do a Forest' and spend £150m quid on 23 useless players.

In fairness there were mitigating circumstances in some cases. Villa wanted a silly amount for Davis, Garner wasn't made available until late (although we still should've gone for him), Spence chose Spurs (could we have pushed more, I doubt it would've made a difference), so you're left with Zinc and Lowe. Not sure they'd have made a huge impact, although I'd of taken Zinc personally.

Anyway, enough negativity it's depressing, we only have to wait one day for another game. We're finally not lounging in midtable in the championship, we're bound to get some luck at some point, law of averages. Cooper keeps saying he can see they can't pass it properly so at least they're aware of the issue, hopefully they'll practise passing in training. We can use Brighton to show us how it's done, they've sneakily been worse post Potter anyway and are rubbish at shooting. Recipe for an upset in my opinion!

If I was Cooper, I'd be tempted to ditch this negative 433 and go back to old faithful 3 at the back to match Brighton.

Henderson
Worrall McKenna Cook
Neco Toff (or whoever is fit at LWB)
Freuler Yates (Or Kouyate)
Mangala
MGW Dennis

I think the 352 would've worked much better with 3 CMs rather than MGW/Lingard. It matches up to Brighton and allows Mangala/Yates to play potentially more progressive roles. We can hit them on the break with MGW and Dennis (or Brennan). I don't really rate Dennis but we need pace in this formation so it's him or Brennan. Not sure MGW and Surridge would have enough pace.

We could've done a deal with Villa. Im sure we might've paid more than his market value but weve done that with other players anyway. We could've held out for Garner - we did that for MGW. And for Spence it seems we never tried to sign him. After the season he'd had, I'm sure we could've shown him some love and pushed harder.  The truth is the club thought they could do better. The stats probably showed £17m Awoniyi to be better than £12m Davis. And international Freuler better than a young Garner. And Wales' Willliams better than troubled Spence. And people on here criticise the owner for sacking the recruitment team?

Yeah would be interesting to know the full ins and outs of them all, I suspect Spence wasn't happening. However, the other two we could've definitely done more to bring in. Davis was injured most of the early part of the season and Garner isn't able to get into the Everton team. Do we really think those two would be transforming us?

Not transforming us but them being here would have at least provided some continuity. Davis is playing  now and scoring and Garner might not be ready for Everton yet but young players have to wait their time in prem clubs. He wouldn't have had to for us and will have been playing for a manager who believes in him.  I'm not saying we still wouldn't be struggling but it made sense to almosy every football expert to avoid player churn. Who was responsible for it,  EM, EM's lad, the recruitment team, I dont know but it's probably destroyed our season before it started.

There are 5 player's in that team above who have played regularly this season and have failed miserably. What makes people think that the ones who we didn't sign would do any better? There is no evidence at all that Samba, Spence, Garner, Davies and Zinkernagel can do the business in the PL.

It's a whole different opposition this season we are not playing Barnsley, Hull, Blackpool, Wigan and Derby etc.

But could they be any worse Sniff? And at least the team would have some coherence and a shared history of sucess from which to draw from.
