Looked solid when he came on. Personally I'd still like to see a 4-3-3 with something like (if they're all fit): ------------------------------------Henderson-------------------------------- Aurier---------------Worrall--------------------Niakhate---------------Lodi -----------O'Brien------------------Mangala-----------Freuler-------------- ------------Dennis------------------Awoniyi-------------MGW--------------- Or if we're going back to three centre-halves, then: -----------------------------------Henderson---------------------------------- -------------------Worrall---------Niakhate----------McKenna-------------- Aurier-------------O'Brien--------Mangala-----------Freuler-----------Lodi ---------------------------------------MGW------------------------------------- -------------------------------------Awoniyi------------------------------------

Mangala has to start for sure. We need to know if he can make a difference and he can sustain and build on his early season promise.

I think Yates above O'Brien in that formation. In a 433 I would 100% also pick Brennan above MGW, not sure how MGW is getting in anyone's teams right now.

MGW was our best player on Monday Wassy. Granted we need more from him but hes the best of a bad bunch atm. I remember him playing that one pass to Taiwo early on otherwise I didn't see him all game aside from a late missed header. Anyway, we're talking about right or left forward not AM. Different debate if it's 352 again. For the record I suggest it's irrelevant, Steve will pick Brennan and MGW.

So will Cooper stick with the back 4 or go back to the familiarity of his back 3? I have no idea what's for the best. The back 4 exposed our wingbacks, who are not true defenders, but was that because the midfielders failed so miserably?
I think I'd stick with the four, get yates in there as the extra midfielder, who can run the hard yards and protect the defence, and probably stick with Aurier who looked to be a calming influence (I accept the heat had gone in the game when he came on). Hendo Aurier - Cook - McKenna - Lodi Mangala - Yates - O'Brien Brennan - MGW Awoniyi

Freuler above O'Brien, lets keep him out there in the hope he improves in a 433. Also, Worrall above Cook. Wouldn't be shocked if this is the team on Monday though.

Colback for me should play if fit. Bags of experience and know how. Was probably our best player v Newcastle. Part of a 3 man midfield.

4-3-3 as we finished Monday . Neco or Toff for Lodi who has not hit the ground running. CB need Changing and Wozza has to play . I think that midfield has balance bring O’Brien on at 60 to buzz around .
Hendo Aurier Wozza Niakhate/ Mckenna if not Fit Neco/Toff Frueler Yates Mangala Dennis MGW Johno

Awoniyi missed 2 sitters that could of changed the game . I would play MGW down the middle with Dennis and Johnson putting balls across like we did for most of Johnsons goals last season . |
