I’m not his biggest fan but - he had a decent game today.
Fair play to him.

Those who said that Joe Worrall can't pass a football please watch a replay of the game yesterday and then come back and tell me how many of his passes didn't go to a red shirt. I will wait...
COYR!

There was at least one in the second half.
We had a throw in and Robinson played it back to him.

COYR!
He has good chemistry with Dawson. I wouldn't be dropping him just because another new signing has a left foot.

I will wait...He passes sideways and backwards, that is easy. He does not take responsibility for passing the ball forwards. When he does ,more often than not he passes behind the player receiving the ball, slowing the momentum of the attack or just gives it away.

I will wait... I’m not really sure of your point then. He (and Daws) largely played under little or no pressure. The ball he did give away was pretty poor, there was no one within ten yards of him. He’s young and still learning so will give the ball away, it’s just whether he learns from certain experiences is the real test. Reading some of the posts on here you would think he is the next Maldini, reading others you would think he killed their gran. The reality is that he’s somewhere in the middle, quite similar to Greg Halford in my opinion, I hope he kicks on to another level personally.

He is a CB, that is what they do mate the majority of the time and Joe does that very well. Do you think that it's Worralls job to play forward defence splitting passes to our attacking players? It's not, he's a defender and when he has the ball at his feet he will pass it and pass it well either to Dawson, Robinson , Watson or Cash (most of the time). That is his job and that is what he is probably instructed to do (like most CB's).

I was laid up yesterday & consequently watched the game on stream with a keen eye on Joe given the recent debate. He did pretty well - though against very poor opposition - and gave the ball back to Brum a few times. I’m not knocking him for that but let’s not get carried away.

I don't think anyone is getting carried away with Worrall.
I think what people are doing is defending him against unjust and unnecessary criticism that is all. Nobody is saying that he is the next Bobby Moore.
