You put it out on the forum that we are ALWAYS on the look out for potential replacements and that it would not be right of the club not to cover all bases, so all I assumed is that this continues even though we have appointed Ange, correct?
Don't think I said that.
Think I said that we are always monitoring our coaches performance or something like that.
Anyway Ange will be given time so you better get used to it.
Can see him getting the full seasons. If not both. Anyone else he would get the sack. But he will get a bit leeway as they are good mates. Iv just learned to live with it and hope we stay up

EM appointed him and will back his decision.
Let’s get to reality here, we have comfortably been the better side in the last 4 games.
Ange can’t exactly do a lot about strikers missing free headers from 5 yards and defenders not tracking runners.
These results have been zero to do with his perceived stylistic approach, this is about players not doing their job.
I firmly agree with Reds73.
Yes agreed.
Injuries to Aina and Murillo have been instrumental imho.
However, whilst it’s too early to judge, I do wonder if too much watching paint dry under Nuno ball has led to romantic dreams clouding judgement.
It’s painful but I accept it was probably time for the next step up the managerial ladder, as it was when cooper left for Nuno.
Yet I can’t help feeling we should have pushed the boat out for a certain guy at Crystal Palace.
Even with a slow start, Glasner would have the immediate respect needed from the fans, projecting stability and receiving more patience to build his team.
Ange has a better record than Glasner !
Ange ppg at forest 0.33
Ange ppg at spurs. 1.51.
Glasner ppg at Palace 1.77
One thing iv noticed with Ange, a lot of fans are happy they can get tickets more with a basic membership now compared to the last home game. There was aload left for sale on Saturday afternoon, and its looking that way for the man u game
Good.
All the bandwagon jumpers and half and half scarf wankers can do one.

Good grief can we please let the Glasner stuff go!
1. He wasn’t available because he is employed by another PL club who certainly weren’t going to release him to us even if he wanted to come.
2. This time last year he was in the bottom 3 with Palace and you lot would have been calling for his head had he been here.
Get behind Ange. Im on board with 16th place and Europa league winners, bring it on!

Not to mention that there's no way on this Earth that Palace would've sanctioned him moving to us.

I mean 2 seasons struggling to stay up by the skin of our teeth then out of nowhere we have an amazing season which at the end was already falling away. All we have done really is gone back to the levels we are. Don't think it would matter who was incharge this season it was a back to normal season and being brought back to reality.
Sorry, that takes away everything the coaching staff and players did. You can't fluke 38 games. Add to the fact we got FAC semi as well.
No, we had an identity, a close knit group and a manager who knew what he was doing.
Yes and No.
The identity thing I agree with and sympathise with Nuno over lack of pre season but not sure that was avoidable. Bringing in so many does destabilise a close knit group but again most (not all) of that was necessary.
Agree with McForest in that I reckon we were a one trick pony last season. Nuno did know what he was doing but there was no other way. We hit a purple patch with players coming in to form, confidence grew around the squad, we were incredibly lucky with injuries (yes skill there too) and you ended up with a team that believed it could go an knock anyone over.
But against any opponent who adapted their game to counter us we then fell short, Everton was classic. The cup run if we are honest was flukey and sometimes painful.
To an extent we are reverting to normal. Spending £30m on players in this league guarantees you absolutely nothing, certainly doesn’t mean you magically have a top 10 squad. All of that means it possibly wasn’t the wisest thing to bring in a coach with a completely different ethos but he’s also arrived at a very difficult time.
I think my point is if you have a manager who has been in this position before and he's telling you what he wants, ignoring that and bloating the squad with new faces is bound to cause issues.

My issue is that this situation was completely avoidable.
Precisely.

it was but without knowing what has gone on behind the scenes it is impossible to form an accurate opinion.
Nuno Clearly wanted out and put himself in a position where the owners had to act. Whether something had happened behind the scenes or he had been approached by another club i doubt we will ever find out.
I'd rather Nuno had stayed and rather Ange hadn't been appointed but we are where we are.
We have seen some signs of positive play but perhaps not got the rewards. Hopefully things will settle, we can get a win on Thursday and start to kick on a bit.
If Ange can get us playing consistently how we did in the 1st half v Betis i think we would all be happy....

Firstly, please don’t patronise me or any other members who have expressed a preference for Glasner.
I believe he is a better ‘all round’ coach than Ange. It’s an opinion and time will tell.
Secondly, it doesn’t mean we aren’t behind Ange.
I happen to welcome a more adventurous approach.
Thirdly, Ange was on an hiding to nothing due to circumstances beyond his control:
-Our three most attacking defensive players have all been injured or not ready - Aina Murillo Luiz.
-The flair players all need time to settle. Look at Williams for example.
-He hasn’t had a pre season (ref Nuno’s frustration too).
The cards are stacked until we get to January and we can retune slightly.
(Eg we may caibano in then to bolster the ranks).
I’m not worried because we will start winning games; I agree about 16th and euro cup winners, I’d take that all day. But we can’t guarantee that ….
In a nutshell, what I’m saying is there shouldn’t be too much of a knee jerk reaction - just yet.
However, I think we will still need to step up a division in managerial terms again if we are to continue our progress. History shows Cooper was the right man out the blocks; Nuno ran the back straight on the second leg so let’s hope Ange now takes the baton without dropping it completely.

Wasn’t patronising you. Just frustrated at those stating “we should have got Glasner instead” as if that was a possibility. It wasn’t.
Also pointing out that a new manager needs time to implement ideas which some don’t seem to want to give him.
I happen to agree that Ange wasn’t the most obvious pick and share the concerns expressed but he’s here so make the best of it.
