If ever there was a meh club, it's Palace. No ambition, at all. Happy just to be in the prem.
Looks like Iriola is going there, which is a very big coup for them
Latest I read was that he was unlikely to stay in the Premier League. AC Milan now interested.

How bizarre. Their CEO is all over the place, causes them to drop out of the Europa, they don’t re-invest to kick-on, their good manager announces he’s leaving, but because the Conference is such a low standard they claim a European trophy - which they did due to the goal of their top striker that they tried to sell in January and only still had because he failed a medical - so now are in the Europa next year and may get a coach they could only dream of in Iraola because he couldn’t find a better club and had already announced he’s leaving? They’ve absolutely lucked in! If they have half a brain they’ll invest this summer to take advantage of this, surely they won’t mess it up again…?

Hopefully Iraola has some sense, Bournemouth was a better job than Palace, at least they back the manager even if the club is a bit smaller. They have decent owners too. He'll have first dibs on any of the next big jobs that come available eg Liverpool, I'd hold fire if I was him.

BBC article this morning says Palace have made a proposal and are awaiting his offer. I really hope he refuses - he could do way better than them.

That makes more sense, I’d be amazed if Iraola went to Palace. It’s not even a sideways move, with Bournemouth also in the Europa I’d say it’s downwards in terms of players and how the club is run. He’d swap the smallest stadium for the third smallest, never won a trophy until a year ago, etc etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on them, Parish is an utter prat as are those gullible idiots that made the poster, but I don’t dislike many clubs as a whole and I don’t dislike them, but for Iraola that makes no sense.

Palace have Hackney as their top target and can now offer Europa. Yes it’s annoying.

Is Mateta going? Didn’t they panic buy Strand-Larson in January as his replacement (and Johnson). I think for a club that don’t spend a lot they’ve dropped a boll@ck there.
And if they are after Hackney it’s probably because Wharton is leaving.

Yes would be as a Wharton replacement. Just saying from a neutral view Palace may look a more attractive option. Not out the question we get him, just more difficult.

I was watching Mateta last night and thinking how decent he looked. I'd love to have him with us but he's above our level now.

Palace fan in peace.
Just to say I don't agree with Parish's slightly cringeworthy comments although I think that was aimed as much at UEFA than your owner.
My own reflection on the multi-club issue was that our owners, at the end of the day, were to blame for our demotion. They missed the deadline, got complacent and were just awful at admin. My main gripe is that UEFA, like FIFA, have a rotten core and I do think had it been a big club e.g. a Chelsea or a Madrid team then UEFA would probably have found a way that was not punitive. I also think blind trusts generally are a ridiculous concept in safeguarding against undue influence from one club over another but dems the rules.
Anyway you should ultimately be proud of your Europa run despite a crazy season for you. I thought you were dead and buried when you lost to Midtjylland at home in the knock outs but you've shown amazing resilience through the competition.
All the best for next season.

Fair play - always liked palace since the 20 fa cup replays in the late 80s early 90s. Glad you won and glad you get another shot at Europe. I actually think our season last year deserved Europa - we were pipped on the last day by Chelsea with their shady money. Palace should have their anger at uefa not us…
Anyway - well done!
