Well they made over £100m from that tournament then, as defending champions no doubt they’ll be invited to the next one. And without spending 1.4bn on the squad they wouldn’t have won it nor be in the champions league next season. The message is clear, break the rules. Yet we’ll get more bad publicity for Crystal Palace breaking the rules than Chelsea will for obliterating the rules.
