Should We Buy A New Goalkeeper?

We probably wouldn't get a fee for Steele or Smith so would rather sell Pantilimon because Muric will be our number 1 if he comes otherwise City wouldn't agree to the loan.

Not sure who you’re expecting to pay for pants unless it’s olympiakos!

Pants is a decent championship keeper, much higher priorities for us.

i think those who want to replace Pants are unreasonable or wrong or both, i love the guy, well i like him, think he can improve but the he's big and not to blame for many and made some great saves and looked better as the season went on.
that is sometimes my problem, if i like someone and someone else is critical, it sort of hurts, doesn't sit well.
The bottom line for me is, you could spend £10m on a keeper, has a nightmare debut, mistakes compound, confidence and all that, a good keeper can become a bad keeper, it is a volatile position, anyway i love Pants, yep really like the bloke, not far off being way above average for this division and potentially outstanding, he saves penalties, he makes outstanding saves and doesn't let in too many soft ones ... unless you have an overtly critical eye, imo, Pants is like my Bro, be kind to him

its a funny old world. i reckon our fans would love to have pants if he was at a rival championship team. his kicking was dismal many times and some issues with being beaten easy but did have good games as well. if we he was injured could we rely on steele for a string of games? i wouldnt be so confident and perhaps MON isnt either.

Don't agree. We need a new number 1 and for me it should be a priority.

If we start the new season with Pants in goal I will be seriously pissed off.

How many times has Pants been voted man of the match?

How many times have we come away from a game and said, you know what, we would have lost that game if it wasn't for Pants.

I think the answer is none on both counts.

In fact, it is the opposite, he has cost us points and we have actually lost games because of Pants.

We will not get promoted with Pants in goal I'm afraid, we need better.

thats not true. the qpr game where he saved the penalty?

Yes I saw that tweet from Adonis, perhaps the back up option if Muric goes elsewhere.

I think Pant's form at times was symptomatic of Forest's problems further up the field and in the back line.

With good CHs in front of him and a couple of sturdy DCMs, he'll be fine.

Yes. Did make blunders last time around. Enough to magic ball those 8 points.

I like him. But he doesn't claim the ball or dominate his box enough for me. Maybe he doesn't have to if the CHs are good enough.

At the least, I think he needs competition to keep him honest and on top form.

Just, as LB, Jack Robinson needs a quality LB to challenge him.

We need to bring in better players to push the quality of the squad higher.

Forest weren't top 6 because they just weren't good enough in key departments and didn't have enough quality back up. LB. GK (as we're debating now). Striker. RW.

The back line improved with the drafting in of Big Ben, Milo and Wraggy. Far better.

That has to happen to GK, RW, LB, CM and striker. 5, at least. Probably more.

It's the sense of reliability. Milo came in. A very composed player with quality. And straight away you think, 'Rock. Steel. Gets the challenge in. Composed. Class. Gets the job done. Reliable.'

And a player like that will make your keeper look better because the keeper isn't rolling the dice as often.

The same as a good defence will look better if it has reliable CMs in front of them. etc.

The Villa game at home both Milo and Pants were awful SA?

It might be one game but it showed their weaknesses and Villa exploited them well.

Yes. I think for a man of Pants' stature he should command his area better. Doesn't inspire confidence in his back-four. Reluctant to come for crosses. He can't get down to low shots at goal, and his kicking/distribution is awful.
