Yep- potter is a fraud for me. Swansea he was crap - pleasing on the eye but soft underbelly. He already had all the tools at Brighton and made a pigs ear of Chelsea. West Ham look shocking and have big problems for me. Sub standard aging players.

Remember, Ipswich were OK-ish early on last season, and Luton the year before.
Id say this is the year when maybe 2 of the 3 could have a chance of staying up but its probably not Brentford who they'll be replacing. Wolves and West Ham for me (Especially West Ham who I'm convinced have a fraud of a manager who's got this massive reputation but never actually done anything).
Potter suited Brighton and their model. Other than that he's really struggled with older pros. Ostersunds was another youthful squad. probably the issue for him.
Did Potter do anything at Brighton? Yes, they're a top 6/10 club now but successive managers have done that there, no problem it seems. Don't know anything about Ostersunds, all I've witnessed is what he's done at Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea. Which is not much really.
He made his name at Ostersunds where took a 4th tier swedish team to the Europa league knockout phase (after league phase) losing to arsenal. Did ok at Swansea which led to Brighton nabbing him, he was the one who really started the brighton thing before de zerbi etc took it on. Obviously since the circus at chelsea been very different for him.
I've got a theory that under Hughton Brighton's performances were below par, so Potter's contribution was actually nothing extraordinary for that club at that moment in time.

That maybe so, but he managed to still get more out of them and people forget they were relegation fodder every year under Hughton that he moved up to european contention. He's certainly not a bad manager he's just not suited to the jobs he's chosen since he left Brighton.

Reckon there is an excellent manager in Potter but he needs to do it at a smaller club without big time players with an attitude problem and a fanbase without unrealistic expectations. He also needs time to build and shape a squad which basically means he isnt suited to either Chelsea or West Ham. Funnily enough if Brentford were to drop down (big assumption) he would probably be perfect to rebuild a team and get them back up.

They had two long throws followed by a corner from which they got a penalty otherwise they really offered nothing, and they only came because we sat back and invited them being comfortably in control.

Schade's pace gave us some challenges but I agree with the rest. I maintain though that they've got quality still.

Can’t say it concerned me too much.

Not opposition fan but the first comment on Liverpool’s official account at the final whistle was gold.
