Pre Season Friendlies 2026
Pretty much our best side beaten by a barcelona youth team.

It was a clear pen on Ndoye, he was wiped out. The handball to Milenk probably correct but unintentional back to player and ball to upper arm.

Well it's all about fitness and getting used to the formation as they say. Still we looked slow with the ball and open without it. Plenty of time to put the work in but I would like to see something that gives us hope for a better season in the upcoming games.

Game against Barca we were much better. Cant help but think to play Gibbs white as an 8 though…

Most of our best stuff through him. McAtee has said playing deeper in pre season but just think he is too lightweight there, wanted to see more of him.

Udinese won then. Barca made 8 changes in the game against them for some reason

Been a while.

Good work out for lots of players.

Positives:
- Players really seem to have got to grips with new shape. Even the 2nd team.looked solid and created a couple of good chances.
- Schlager was competitive and very tidy on the ball.
- Yates very comfortable in a back 3 if needed.
- All wing backs looked decent.
- Murillo is back.
- First team looked very promising v Barcelona
- McAtee and Ndoye showed their quality at times.
- MGW purring, linked well with McAtee.

Negatives
- one or two don't look good enough to fulfil requirements of system
- We need a back up keeper.
- Chances went begging again.
- Another niggle for Woods.

All in context of glorified friendlies, but I thought very positive work out.

Surprised at no minutes at all for Taiwo? I accept OG probably wants a look at Kali although if he is going to stay surely he is better suited to one of the places behind the front man.

Big T had a nigglewith his groin Sal so was not risked. He would have come in for wood if he had been fit.

T and Woody were precautionary according to OG.
felt tightness in the warm up and not risked

Suppose this is the risk of going into the season relying on these two. Got to assume we will bring someone in for that role. Probably why Solanke would be a bad option too.

Absolutely have to sign a striker and we will.
OG had 4 priorities.
Centre back - Diomande
Wing back
Midfielder
Forward

We will also sign a back up GK

I reckon Bakwa, Kali, Bindon (loan) Zach (loan), Eric (loan)  and Taiwo will all leave
