Not missing Ioannis the wannabe football manager. But I am missing the Ioannis who got shit done around running a football club.

I think we all are. Clear gaps in the team and 2 weeks tomorrow we go to Arsenal. Let's hope we get busy to fill the gaps. Still need a CB, a DM, a LWB, a CF and I'd say another winger. I think Steve expected more over the line last week. On Ioinnis it's easy to get stuff done when you're getting sold a kipper by an agent. That reflects in the fees we have paid to agents for below average players that nobody wanted during his tenure.

Hopefully we can start to put our something close to our best 11 in the next few games. He might be pissed off with lack of signings so far, however, we still should be seeing some better attacking patterns of play. If Felipe and Niakhate aren't fit for a while we need to push the boat out on a new CB.

And this is why I kept saying Cooper wanted his signings earlier because of that shower of shite last night. How long will Cooper keep smiling and saying everything is good. You have to question if some of the recruitment staff wants us to stay in the Premier league because if they do then pull their fingers out and get the tools Cooper needs to compete. I hope the big man watched last night and start asking questions on what the f**k is going on with our recruitment strategy.

We can't just go chucking money at players without any regard for FFP and because our incomings are smaller than many PL clubs we're not in a position to, say, activate Sangare's release clause or stump up the fee for Mavropanos without something else happening first. And at the moment those something elses are taking time. We need to know what's happening with Henderson (i.e. whether we'll have to pay for him on a permanent this season or can get a loan to buy), we could really do with selling more of the players we know won't be involved - but of course that won't be easy - and if we're going to sell Brennan we need to get acceptable offers.

You're right its not easy but you can't tell me the Cooper and all other staff involved in recruitment didn't know who they wanted or what we needed and who to get rid of a month or two before the end of the season. Our recruitment planning is again shown to be extremely slow. As for Henderson I for one would've told Utd to do one by now and move on to a different target. We simply can't just keep sitting there waiting for other teams to do what they need to do. I would assume the big man knew this before the end of the season and either agreed which is why Cooper is still here or disagreed and cooper left.

It might be simplistic to say but surely planning for this season should've started in April or March last year. Yes we won't have known which division we'll have been in but then draw up plans for both.

Tugger's point on the other thread is pretty important though. Due to our fixtures we're going to be in the bottom three after 6 games, likely with a minimum of 4 losses. Those games vs Sheff U and Burnley are so important for Cooper.
Breaking it down into windows, we have 4 games before the 1st international break, how have we got 3 away games in the first 4 by the way?! Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea away plus Sheff U at home. So if we don't beat Sheff U we will likely be bottom of the league at that point. If Cooper can survive that, we have Burnley, Man City away, Brentford home, Palace away before the next window. That will be the chance to start moving upwards. I'm nervous for Cooper, on the plus side, all the flak the recruitment team is getting means they might be the ones getting sack after 4 games not Cooper!

Jakobs?

That Henderson isnt here is irrelevant anyway. He isn’t fit and won’t be for a while.
I do worry about Cooper’s fate though. You are dead right, we lose the first 6 games, everyone will forget that we are trying to do it with a Championship goalkeeper and central defence, the knives will be out for the manager regardless.

Should've moved on from Henderson well before now.
