Now if you go back and read my post...
At no point did I say EM was at fault for our form.
I simply asked the question about where his priorities lie and how much does he know that's going on here.
My gripe was more aimed at those working in the club now. I simply cannot understand why sabri has been allowed to sign so many players... this tried and trusted method has worked so many times before. Why are the leadership allowing this. We finished 7th. At times last season we looked unbeatable. Do we need a whole new team???
I mean come on sniff... sabri is clearly to blame for the poor form, his selections and his training are now working. But if sabrinhas signed these players then someone has allowed him to and that is wrong. If wh had finished last season only just avoiding relegation then you could argue that the team isn't good enough and we need more players.
I get you think the sun shines out of the arse of those that run the club. without being offensive, you are starting to sound like someone else who had an unwavering support of the last ownership
No one is free of blame here for the current situation. Everyone involved with NFFC needs to step up. It's time that they started delivering.
So are you suggesting Sabri shouldn't have been allowed to sign any players? I'm confused.
Not sure it matters who the manager is, the majority have been proven championship players at a reasonable price. We've done way more business than most clubs and the squad looks noticeably stronger. Bring a winger in and thats a full house.
Sabri or whoever else is in charge of new signings has done a good job on paper at least. Particularly with the pandemic, imagine it'll take time to assimilate these new players with varying fitness levels. Although I think Taylor should be playing, he had the lockdown period off anyway so should be very fresh
Not at any point did I say no players. But for a team who finished 7th, and we all said it, 3 or 4 additions of quality would see us push forward... not 9 or 10 or 11 whatever it ends up being.
Also, yes we do have a strong squad. Still lost all 3 games this season without scoring. Still only won 3 in 18. Sabri is to blame for this. All inwas saying is that, I believe, the problem lies deeper than just sabri.
Not wanting EM out or anything like that as I think he has done wonders but.... those people working at the club.. I'm not sure about them. They need to be answerable too. The scouting of foreign players has not been great. Allowing the sheer number of signings IMO was not the correct way to address the squad that had our highest finish in a decade.
You implied Sabri shouldn't have been allowed to sign players, that either implies you think Sabri should've already been sacked last season or we should sign no-one.
I just feel like the club can't win with people like you. Team not good enough, ok sign new players. Too many from abroad, ok sign proven championship players. Oh wait but no you've signed too many.
We had to replace cash and Watson so thats an extra two. Most are saying figs/ribeiro/lolley need to be rotated but you think we shouldn't because we're not allowed to buy more than 3 or 4 players?
Which signings have you disagreed with?
Woah... people like me. You mean someone who dares to have a differing opinion.
Firstly I wasn’t sure if sabri should have been sacked at the end of last season. Yes form was poor but then so was January recruitment. I was ok with the club keeping him but wanted to seem an improvement in performances once we restarted. We have not seen this and now I think he should go.
Second... yes the manager should be allowed to make signings but a whole teams worth on the back of what most people called a successful season. I agree we needed signings but just not so many. It can’t be good for moral in a team that was close to promotion. We also seem to have 2 sets of people signing players.
You ask who I don’t agree with
Diallo- we have smith and shelvy already.
We now have 13 defenders eb,lb and cb Including 5rb. Now I think Christie is a good addition but not a necessary one with 4 others on our books. Yes I think figs needs a break but we also have daws, bena, hef who play this position.
Fouad ... where is he, what was the point of signing him.
Ultimately I think Colback, Christie, Taylor and freeman would have been enough. Especially for the style of football sabri plays.
Yes Lolley needs to recover so play Mighten. Maybe bring in a lw so possibly 5 signings max.
I am only saying that time and time again we have made numerous signings every summer and it hasn’t worked yet. For the first time in a decade we had a squad that looked like, with a few additions, could go on and make a genuine challenge for promotion. I just don’t understand the need for 9... and he has also said more to come. Stability doesn’t just come in the form of a manager.
