No it wasnt, they only went for Jenkinson after Darikwa was injured.
But thats not really the point, nor is the fact that Cash turned out to be far better at RB than anyone suspected. What I am driving at is that our transfer strategy tends to be reactive and they end up with Players who dont fit the system. Changing manager every 6 months doesnt help either of course.
Go back to Brentfords model, they will be looking at what gaps they need to fill in a year or mores time. Lets say Ribeiro has another storming year and we still dont get promoted, he will probably be next seasons sacrifice to the PL. So we should be looking ahead now for someone to fill his boots, Who plays the same way, thats what Brentford would do, thats what having a strategy is about.
