He did yes but he also had a contract at Forest.

I am sure that we could have come to an agreement where he left at the end of the season instead of half way through it.

Agree ... he wanted to leave because he wasnt playing. Being away from the family is already hard  but with nothing to show for that  ( see for some people money is not everything)... its nog as if he was a 21 year old like Carvalho,  Diaz etc ... hd was at an age were hd expects to play ... especially with a second tier team ...
