Certainly think it's a "gamble" that has paid off.
To be fair, it was a gamble on his part too, signing a 1 year deal, ie if he failed with us where would that leave him? Being out of contract and looking for a club after having failed at the last.
If the club goes on/continues to have a successful season, even if it eventually ends in disappointment, we're back to being an attractive proposition for players. So no need to rush in with Ameobi IMO.
