Yes, ForestFire59.  I was thinking that myself.  5 million bid accepted.  Brum' have lodged 6 million.  So both bids must be accepted.  Which one has priority?  The highest?  (Confident Forest can match Brum'...but will they want to?  Maybe if it is their top target...they'll be patient but how much more patient?)

Then you've got wages as well.  I thought Brum' were financially hard up?  Can they offer higher wages than Forest?

And then there's Grabban.  If wages are equal.  Where does he want to go?  It may come down to that.  Who knows if Monk will be there half way through the season...

Forest have tried to do all their business early and off the record so far, it seems.  Will they get involved in a bidding war?  Will Boro and Leeds join the chase?  Forest.  They've invested most of this week in talks seemingly.  It should be a matter of just medical and signature?

Surely, they're leading the chase for this one?  Think Friday will make things clearer...

Grabban expected to undergo a medical tomorrow. If all goes well, he will sign a long-term contract. Either a three year contract, which could include the option of a further year or a straight four-year deal.

Will be another big piece of the jigsaw in place, if all goes through without any issues. Experienced, proven striker at this level - which is what Aitor Karanka has craved form day one, this summer. Good signing.

Also take into account last seasons attendance average was up by about 5K and the promise of the same again ths season and there is another bucket load of additional finances. Record shirt deal on top of that as well.

The club is now being run by professionals from the top down and not run by some egotistical dullard who had no idea what he was doing.

The Professionals!  (Interesting info' on the revenues with Attendances and Record Shirt Deal.  That's a lot of extra DOSH. That may explain our extra reach this season and having new owners. Spreading payments out over slightly longer contracts. And we took our medicine in selling Britt too... A calculated move?)

That's an excellent point.  'Insurance.'  Good catch.  We've taken our medicine and we're ready to go.  Perhaps we've been sandbagging the last two years.  A calculated move to get our house in order and begin the 'surge.'  Steady the ship first then 'go on my san.'

They certainly cannot spend what they like.

Current spending should be well within FFP guidelines.

Carvalho signed for 13.5 m on a 5 year deal, that impacts on this years accounts by 2.7m

Soudani signed for around 2.5m over 3 years accounts for another 800k

Grabban @ 6m on a 4 year deal equates to another 1.5m

Wages will need to be taken into account but we have shipped out a number of big earners and sold Eric with more to go.

Makes sense when you put it like that.  We're making a 'measured' and 'calculated' push for promotion having eaten our reality sandwich.  Spreading the risk..and doing our proper due diligence with quality targets (many of whom, with teh youth Academy products can provide a return instead of letting players go for nothing all the time.)  Timed to perfection.  The last couple of years of austerity have steadied the Forest ship and get our house in order.

Good to go?  For a promotion push.
