Are you sure that wasn't NG3 from here?
if it is NG3 we are talking about a forum legend in the making, hope you are still in touch NG3. Looking forward to your insight on some sunny day basking in the PL.
I genuinely think some are more dependent on forums than others, i know there are paraplegic Forest fans for example, fans who can't cross the line in day to day life, not that anyone should cross the line at any time but i put it down to passion, but sometimes you just want to cross that line and some are just glad there is a line they can cross, sometimes a rant, sometimes an unpopular opinion, unfortunately sometimes personal which isn't good
In NG3's case he put up many, non controversial and genuine insights and like some of us, some creative writing, on quiet days his posts made the forum worth a visit, some of his posts took a couple of hours or more to compose.
I still wish we could like/dislike posts but that 'add reputation' debate did get a bit personal .. even when the replys started ''nothing personal but ... ''
Ironically, at the time, NG3's reputation was the highest of all forumites, he lived on here at times, i hope he returns, he did have the ability to make peace which is the main thing.
NG3 where are you buddy?
I am just a Johnny come lately to this forum and only can judge his contributions since I joined late last season.
His posts initially gave an opinion, which would often prompt discussion/ debate (all good so far). But when disagreeing with his opinion, he became aggressive, preachy and then threatening via PM.
I did like his Walter Mitty style stories though and (this may seem a bit harsh to say here) they were often referenced during journeys to away games and even, some of his best whoppers would have texted links sent around to brighten our working days.
Apologies if you know him on a personal level, I take as I find. I gravitated to this forum as it doesnt have a preponderance of wrist slashes and perfectionists (like that guy on one forum who used to go on and on about needing more defenders, now moaning about lack of pace and his views on yesterday's performance are bizzarre.).
On the whole here different Opinions are debated based on what they see watching games (live or online/TV). Look at Ben Watson- on some sites all you read is stuff like "how can he keep picking Watson?" Here most give him credit for his actual performances.
I digress-sorry if I missed NG3 in his days of being a legend. In my time he was anything but...
