Colback is a big miss, and the frontline was weak to begin with. Losing Ansarifard & Walker has only weakened it further. Darikwa's injury doesn't help either.
See where we are in a week. I very much doubt we've let some of these players go without being confident of signings coming in to replace them.
You forgot to mention that we have signed Mir and Ameobi to replace Ansarifard and Walker. I would say that strengthens how strike force not weakens it.
Ameobi is no more of a striker than Soudani was mate. An absolute last resort cover option, or someone to play there for the last 10-15 with the mindset of not conceeding and adding uppredictability to keep the opposition on the backfoot.
Forgot about Mir though so yeah fair enough there.
But lets not forget that Murphy is also a year older too, and whereas before he was in the mindset of having a role here, now he'll be very much looking elsewhere.
Overall you're probably right actually, it's much of a muchness compared to last year. But last year's frontline was wafer thing too, so we definitely need another forward.
