Last seasons piss poor finish under Martin has nothing to do with his history with us.

Obfuscate as much as you want but we finished short of where we should and regardless of who was in charge it wasn’t good enough.

I wouldn't say it was piss poor, we won three on the trot for the first time in years.

Prior to that we went to Wast Brom and bossed them, we went to Preston and bossed them too, we also destroyed Boro at home. The situation is know where near as bad as some people like to make out.

On 1st March we were three points off the playoffs and FIVE points ahead of Villa with twelve games to go. The fact we didn’t make the playoffs despite winning three on the trot speaks for itself and the results in the final few games only blurred the lines on how bad it was. 

Hopefully we can do some decent business this summer and get the season off on the front foot.
