The actual situation is not as bad as the one perceived
The problem is though all those players that look like they will not be a part of the team next year are entering the last year of a very well paid contract. On that basis, they will be very unlikely to want to move on as they will not get as good a deal elsewhere, clog up the squad, and limit the numbers we can bring in or spend on wages to bring the required level of quality.
I believe the squad is classed of 44 players and we are only losing 9 of them 7 of which are loans and would have gone anyways. We really need 2020 to come sooner rather than later and hope we aren't stupid enough to top up peoples contracts on the basis we need to have backup players.
