Absolutely delighted for MON.

It was a huge game for him yesterday.

He so badly needed a top performance and a big win and he got it, if he hadn't then I would have feared for him.

Credit to him for changing the system around and going 3 at the back, that took balls, I dread to think what people would have said if it had failed.

I hope we stick with that system now, it gives Carvalho and Lolley some freedom and space behind a striker to do what they do best, it also suits the game of both Osborn and Cash more and we have an abundance of center backs to choose 3 from.

IMO MON looked at the injuries to the Boro team and went for the back 3 to be more offensive and to try to turn them around with iron lungs Cash and Osborn flying as wing backs. It worked brilliantly on the day and Carvalho grabbed the opportunity it presented to him with both hands which was great.

But, unless Mon decides to throw caution to the wind and go for it in an away game, next week we'll need to be set up to be less offensive. And also QPR will be more ready for the back 3 than Boro were.

He'd be mad not to have another look at it after it worked so well yesterday, and especially in an away game, but I'm not so sure it will work as well against a team that can see it coming.

A back 3 is what MON mainly used at Leicester and Celtic where he had a lot of success.

I believe it is his prefered formation.

I am not sure why it took him so long to use it at Forest but now he has used it and it worked a treat I think we should stay with it home and away. The three at the back suits our squad and it's a formation that is mainly used by Sheffield United and they haven't done too bad with it.
