This is my main issue and has been all along, this appointment wasn't made with the current squad in mind; the changes he'd make this summer to a squad that was built to play football, he'll demolish it and likely spend a lot of money to do so in order to get a load of athletes (to put it politely) rather than actual technical footballers. We know Marinakis likes his teams to play good football (he's dismissed managers before because of poor style and those managers definitely played a lot nicer stuff than MON!), so it's likely the manager after MON will be a return to the Marinakis MO, a manager who wants his team to retain possession and pass the ball around, something this current squad was just showing signs of being good at only for it to get ripped to shreds yet again. The board should've had a contingency in place for Karanka being sacked or walking to make the transition as seamless as possible for the squad, to keep them playing a similar style, they didn't and that was a major failure.
