Without Murphy's goals last season? We'd probably not be in this league.
This season? Less close to the play offs.
So he's made a contribution (he's not a main striker at 35), so from 'part-time' role 4 goals is ok. They've been timely ones. eg. The last game inspired a win.
Bre' is young. Like Car'. But Bre' (or Murphy) didn't cost Forest £13.5 million. Car' did. Car's goals and assists. Take them away and yes, Forest wouldn't be where they are. 'Solid' mid-table. But after a good start (and with the last of the Summer sun...) he and the rest of the Portuguese contingent 'vanished.' Pulling out of tackles and what not. But 'vanishing' in the winter season wasn't surprised. Recruitment should have picked that up. Car' hasn't really done it for months. He got 'that' goal relatively recently. And I was pleased for him. But I don't think he's doing enough to start. Maybe as a sub. I don't expect him to be here next season. He might not be the only one, though.
With the caveat that Murphy is 35. And Car' is what? 22?
I think Forest would have been better spending £13.5 million on the areas that have cost them points this season.
Keeper.
Striker.
ACM.
Winger.
LB.
£3 million each.
I'll speculate that that would have got Forest more goals, saved more goals, got more points, saved more points and had more bottle and toughness for the Championship.
SA.
