Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest

Except from Coventry at Home we've been good value to get something from every game but we haven't. We've missed the most big chances in the league which is 17, We've created joint 2nd most big chances in the league with 21 but someone only scored 4 of them. Only Arsenal have conceded more XG then us. We are currently 3rd in the XG table expected to be on 10pts. 6th in expected goals with 10.6 meaning we are underperforming by 5.6 goals.

We should've had Liverpool away wrapped up in the first half, Villa away wrapped before they equalised but obviously we won in the end. Palace away we should've been 3/4-0 up at HT but managed to lose. A wall splitting and goalkeeping error costs us a point v Leeds and Tottenham at Home we have a goal controversially ruled out in a game where we conceded 0 shots on target.

But I have one slight worry on the underperformance in front of goal Palace in the least two seasons created 58xg but only scored 41 goals and then the season before they created 61xg and scored 51 goals. So they've underperformed by 27 goals in 2 seasons. A pattern is emerging here already with us underperforming by 5 goals in 6 games. So this needs to change quickly.

But I think this season we hover around midtable because I do believe there will be some games where we demolish some teams. I think it can happen very soon as well.

I agree, for me the frustration is less so the outcome but more the knowledge that due to the tough upcoming games the team and Glasner will be under so much pressure that we may need see the positive effects shown above when some of these stats regress to the mean and we win some games. I think it's frustrating as this is clearly an improvement on previous years and potentially a high enough level to get us into a decent final position yet I fear we might not get to see that maximised. Just got to hope the club/fans are willing to stay the course through the tougher games if results inevitably don't improve.

Also, hope that Delap can score a few to build his confidence as he will be key to those chances actually being taken. At least N'Doye took his first chance well...
