If he was on a free he would probably expect more.
No I wouldnt...he might be a consistent footballer but in the Championship no player is worth more then 20 k a week ...nd that player must be a game changer not a steady Eddie.. Friends even if he was just an average premiership midfielder , some team outside the top 8 in the Premiership would have taken a punt, nd I m in no doubt that if a Watford or a Bournemouth comes calling, Colback wouldn't think twice to go there...if we try to pay a fee for him ( something like half a million ), nd on top of that we give him a three year contract on anything close to 30k a week...we will be regretting it in a year. I still think that our midfield is our weak point nd its not promotion material...so if we have to upgrade by a couple of midfielders that are really quality. .He will end up on the bench....especially with young Yates emergence...
It's nice to see some eloquence on the depth of Forest's midfield problems. I've been noted your midfield comments for the last few weeks. Hard to argue with. (Unless I was a crazy person...)
You have to win midfield to win games. eg. We have 3 DCMs doing the work of 'two' and no experienced ACM for this league (unless Pele turns out to be a star find...) and Lolley on the wing. But on the other?
And if Grabban is down with his tendons. Who do we have to call upon? Murphy who's treading water and blowing bubbles.
Bonatini? Doesn't seem match fit to me. But if he was...he'd still need service from a fully firing midfield who could supply him the ammo to take his chances.
...and so it goes.
Malta calls it out. It is what it is. And it stems back to the Summer.
At least Yates has been a find. And Pele? Hopefully something can come from him. Shame he didn't hit the ground running like our two CHs. (Who weren't protected today as well as they have been by Colback and was Watson also culpable in the build up to it? I think Martin alluded to the fact the ball should have been dealt with much sooner...before it got to the stage it did...)
