The bloke was hated by the players and he was only taking us one way and that was back to the Championship.
Whenever I bring up his name I get grief for it but others seem to discuss him without getting grief.
So can we put it to bed once and for all and never mention his name again?
Horrible bloke and shit manager.
End of.
Think it's entirely reasonable to be able to discuss a sacked manager, especially one that lasted such a short period of time.
For what it's worth, that defeat to Wrexham was an utter shambles and imo Dyche was perfectly entitled to criticise the players for the performace they put in. We nearly went in at half time 3-0 down. People have short memories if they cant remember how bad it was. I was very angry after that defeat and Dyche's words were cathartic. And let's not forget, it was the second Championship side that had beaten that team this season.
I think the issue was that Dyche took no responsibility for the loss and blamed it all on the players. Just not a good way to treat younger players these days as was acknowledged in that article. Also, we've seen now that those guys aren't as terrible as Dyche got them to play.
But it was the players who didn't perform! And the reason they aren't as bad now might just be down to the fact that they've had more time to acclimatise to the club/country, and they've had more game time on the pitch together. It might be nothing to do with the way they have/are being coached. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect prem players to win at least one out of two games against championship sides.
I wanted Dyche out at the end but I'm not going to blame him for every bad thing that's happened. Edu was primarily responsible for the summer's signings. He will have been aware that these new players would be required to be thrown in for games like Wrexham and Swansea. The truth is that these players just weren't up to the task. They may be now but it's taken the best part of a whole season for us to see it. Edu should have been aware of that. And he should have been aware that having a blazing row with the incumbent head coach the minute you arrive is not good management. The guy was useless and to be fair to Marinakis, he eventually realised this and got rid.
That Midtjylland game wasn't that long after Wrexham.
I'm just a firm believer that calling out players in the media is a bad approach to management and not going to get players onside going forward.
Not to mention our tactics in games like Everton at home that were so painful to watch.
Maybe Pereira is just a managerial genius though!
