Brentford showed in the 2nd half they have some qualities, even if they were playing against a team going through the motions with the game won. Sunderland had a great result but at some point the true weight of the prem will kick in for the 3 promoted sides and it becomes a slog. Remember, Ipswich were OK-ish early on last season, and Luton the year before.
Id say this is the year when maybe 2 of the 3 could have a chance of staying up but its probably not Brentford who they'll be replacing. Wolves and West Ham for me (Especially West Ham who I'm convinced have a fraud of a manager who's got this massive reputation but never actually done anything).
Potter suited Brighton and their model. Other than that he's really struggled with older pros. Ostersunds was another youthful squad. probably the issue for him.
Did Potter do anything at Brighton? Yes, they're a top 6/10 club now but successive managers have done that there, no problem it seems. Don't know anything about Ostersunds, all I've witnessed is what he's done at Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea. Which is not much really.
He made his name at Ostersunds where took a 4th tier swedish team to the Europa league knockout phase (after league phase) losing to arsenal. Did ok at Swansea which led to Brighton nabbing him, he was the one who really started the brighton thing before de zerbi etc took it on. Obviously since the circus at chelsea been very different for him.
I've got a theory that under Hughton Brighton's performances were below par, so Potter's contribution was actually nothing extraordinary for that club at that moment in time.
