I dont get the negativity surrounding O'Neill.
I must find out the odds for him getting Forest promoted in the next two seasons. Ill have 100 quid on him.
All I can think of is folk looking at the Ireland & Sunderland jobs, and deciding they weren't great so he'll do poor with us. I mean, who wants a manager who kept a now L1 side in the Prem or was managing internationally eh? :DÂ
MON's appointment really sorts the wheat from the chaff to me. A man who's record is great, Sir Clough's only real outstanding student, someone who's achieved for us as a player & someone who personally has been described to me as "the best manager they've worked with bar none - got an extra 50% from you" by players who worked under him.
What's more, MON's percentage football style not only lends itself to success at a cheaper rate than the likes of AK, but IMO it's probably the most guarenteed way to get out of this league. When MON has had some more time and has a few more players he needs, I'd expect his teams to play somewhere between Billy's & Bassett's.
Folk talk about "attacking", "defensive", "passing", "direct" styles etc. Well the best way out of this league is to bully your way out with a strong, unified team complimented with some skill & a killer-clinical instinct. And that's what's MON's all about.
