I won't get to technical, because we're talking about the past, which can be a nice (or sometimes less nice) place to visit, but a place where we should never live & did touch briefly on some of the issues earlier in the season, but 3 simple stats for you, EPL goal drought record, Nottingham Forest all time goal drought record, we've only scored in 2 of the last 9 (all competitions).
Negative comes in all sorts of flavours & appearances, but you don't rack up those 3 stats, after significant spends, if you're a positive manager.
Some of our impressive defensive stats were an illusion that was built on sacrificing normal transition from back to front at times.
Yeah I agree Karanka’s tactics relying on slow patient build up with a protected defence. Not necessarily a bad thing given we have not got a good defence or keeper. With a similar defence we were slaughtered under warbs defensively as we committed more players players forward.
I just don’t like the suggestion we’re going to be playing much worse football than under karanka. I’d imagine the tactics will be fairly similar
