One solution could be clubs agree an amendment for the coming season that there are no point deductions seeing as rules are changing but losses carry over to the new criteria. Think thats unlikely though, most clubs will find a way to come in on budget.

What I do have a problem is having to sell off our players before we are comfortably mid table and stable.
We are being punished because the rules are loaded against new entrants into the league, and for that, sympathy is deserved; I await with interest what plan Ipswich have.
Conversely, this continual diatribe of the club only has itself to blame for all those signings is really starting to grate now. No club has a 100% success rate and 0% of clubs have been in Forest’s position before, being promoted but with only half a dozen senior players of note to start the next season.
Given the expected malaise next season I still think given a choice we should take a deduction rather than sell off the Crown Jewels.
Given that the regulator is coming now whatever, the PL’s plan to demonstrate self-governance has failed and it has no reason for further sacrificial lambs.
I can therefore easily see a radical back-tracking on points deductions next season under pressure from the broadcasters and the phrase it being for the ‘integrity of the competition’ being oft quoted.

We needed a considerable number but definitely didn’t need 29 new players last season, you are fooling yourself if you think we did. We didnt spend wisely enough and its where our problems came from

The memory is a little hazy cos it was crazy times but I'm pretty sure it was 22 players in the summer window.....
1 of those can be considered a player we could've done without but worth a gamble (Lingard),
1 was DOA (Omar Richards).
I'm sure I recall Sky & Talkshite including a 16 year old kid that we bought for the academy (can't remember who it was tho). I guess this might be where you get your 29 players from but 30 is still the number that's thrown around by everyone cos ya know, shit sticks.

We then bought a further 7 players & loaned 1 (Navas) in January due to barely being able to field a full team (remember how many players we had injured that season??!!)
So not really THAT extravagant considering the situation we were in.
