Premier League clubs have agreed in principle to a spending cap.

This will anchor spendings to around five times the TV revenue of the bottom club.

Man City, Man Utd and Aston Villa were the only teams who voted against the move. Chelsea abstained.

Change to be ratified this summer.

Does that mean spending is equal across the league???

Not sure, but that is how I interpret it.

Yes because everybody is working off the same figures.

Eg - TV rev of bottom club was 103m 
The talk is a multiple of 4.5 

So 103m x 4.5 = 463.5m that has to cover wages, amortisation of transfer fee costs and agent fees.

So as an example in last accounts our wage bill was 140m and amortisation is around 50m, agent fees at around 10m

So we are at 200m with a ceiling of £463m

So these rules won’t help the clubs in the Top 4 as their wage bill and amortised transfer fees will be at that sort of level.

What it does is allow the aspirant clubs to inject money into the club.

So Newcastle for expample will be a big beneficiary of this

Still have to follow the cost ratio rules too though so won't be allowed to spend that full 500m (it's multiple of 5 that got voted through).
