Premier League clubs have agreed in principle to a spending cap.

This will anchor spendings to around five times the TV revenue of the bottom club.

Man City, Man Utd and Aston Villa were the only teams who voted against the move. Chelsea abstained.

Change to be ratified this summer.

Does that mean spending is equal across the league???

I think it works alongside the UEFA rules too, means that there is a hard maximum spend. I don't think that necessarily unlocks smaller clubs to spend up to the maximum but it's stops the biggest teams spending anymore than they already do. That said it would've only limited Chelsea last year so not sure how big an impact it'll really have. Also, need to get the PFA on board too.

That said good idea in principle.
