Seems the financial restrictions are getting ever tighter on the non-Sky 6 clubs. So how mu ch could this affect us financially for future accounting periods?
If we get fined, does that count towards FFP?
And then it’s about £2.2million per finishing position. So the difference between 12th and 17th is £11mio.
Unless we get a huge points penalty / injury crisis I think we stay up, but I fear nevertheless it could have a knock-on impact on our finances - which the cynic would say is intended to keep ambitious clubs without European revenue in their place.
Another big money out in the summer I’d guess, do we cash in on Elanga? Do we make pure profit on Murillo?
Come the summer we lose something like 11 players (?) out of contract, including Arter, Wood and others earning substantial wages. I'm not sure exactly how many there are.
Nuno wants a smaller squad, so we are going to be making some significant savings in wages. He may start to trim the squad now to put us in the PL's good books by showing them we are trying to be compliant with them.
