I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. If I were them, I'd probably take a -12 point punishment if it gave them a clean sweep in terms of their finances.
However, don't the punishments usually come with a transfer ban etc? I think that would be problematic for them.
Last few games have shown that they have a squad and a manager who could probably still stay above those 3, even without re-reinforcements. I see only Burnley throwing money around in Jan, blades have already pretty much said they've got no cash, Luton similar.
I was thinking more about the summer if it were an 18 month transfer ban. Along with liklihood of a stronger division with the teams likely to come up and go down.
