Im sure there will be plenty of debate as to the rights and wrongs of letting Brazil go. Thats done and dusted now so Im far more interested in what his successor can do.
Had a look at Rangers academy graduates, Craig Mulholland has been in charge there since 2015. The following is from Wiki so can’t vouch for accuracy but below is the list of Rangers academy players that have been sold for a fee during Mulholland’s time. There are a few others such as Leon King who still play for Rangers. First figure given is initial fee, 2nd total fee with add ons.
10 Scotland Lewis Macleod 1 January 2015 Brentford England £0.85m £0.85m
11 Scotland Billy Gilmour 1 July 2017 Chelsea England £0.5m £1.5m
12 Scotland Barrie McKay 5 July 2017 Nottingham Forest England £0.5m £0.5m
13 Scotland Ryan Hardie 17 July 2019 Blackpool England £0.15m £0.15m
14 Finland Serge Atakayi 30 December 2019 SJK Finland £0.1m £0.1m
15 Scotland Dire Mebude 3 August 2020 Manchester City England £0.1m £0.1m
16 Scotland Ross McCrorie 1 February 2021 Aberdeen Scotland £0.35m £0.55m
17 England Nathan Young-Coombes 9 June 2022 Brentford England £0.1m £0.1m
18 Scotland Nathan Patterson 4 January 2022 Everton England £11.5m £16m
19 Scotland Rory Wilson 16 June 2023 Aston Villa England £0.35m
Compare and contrast with what Gary Brazil has achieved if you wish. It should be noted that Rangers Academy has a manager and head coaches working under Mulholland much the same way as the also departed Warren Joyce.
I only hope Mulholland can continue to develop the Forest academy and wish him well.
