How many people have ever been seriously hurt during a celebratory pitch invasion? I would guess zero.
Compare that to how many people have been seriously hurt in a pub or nightclub or even just walking home in the street.
Just playing devil's advocate here cos like I said, in a perfect world, I think celebrating on the pitch with the players should be part of the game BUT......what you said there just highlights the fact that the world is full of dangerous people. If you can get attacked on the street for no reason then it is not beyond imagination that it could happen in such an emotionally charged atmosphere.
I've just watched a video on Twatter from last night's Wet Spam game showing the AZ fans trying to get into the players family enclosure & the players fighting to stop them......that's potentially the type of people we're talking about here. Just cos a serious or fatal injury hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't.
