I think you're both right. I believe the international team have the right to examine the player if he's declared injured. But we didn't want Brennan to play and he didn't, despite Wales having a strop about it. Their reaction suggests that they thought he could've played.

But New Zealand is a long way to go for a medical assessment.

Does that not suggest we had the power to do the same with Wood and chose not to? Therefore suggesting his injury was not bad at the time of travel and therefore not a risk?

It's just wild speculation without the facts, I tend to trust medical professionals and assume they felt he was safe to travel at that point (whereas Brennan was not). However, if someone made a mistake it is on them as opposed to anyone else at the club.

I just think sometimes the answer's right in front of you. Was it a good idea for Wood to travel all the way to New Zealand to play two games when he'd missed the last game due to injury? You don't need to be a medical professional to know that the answer is no.

Why let him travel then? Why not treat his injury like Brennan's one?
