There is no way he would have been allowed to travel to join up with the NZ squad and then return early if he had already been ruled out for the season.
He's obviously aggravated the injury while with NZ.
He should never been allowed to go in the first place after being ruled out of our last game against Newcastle through injury despite being ineligible.
I dont know the rules Sniff but did they have a choice if NZ insisted he travelled.
I doubt a 24 hour trip on a cramped plane seat did the injury much good though.
Regardless of the rules, Wood flying to the other side of the globe not 100% fit to play two international games is an absolute failure by someone at the club.
Got to question our medical/physio department this year regardless. Feels like it shouldn't take the NZ medical team to spot a season ending injury.
That's because it wasn't season ending when he was given permission to go there which he should never have been given.
